Well I just got home and had a awesome time at the race track Friday! That is one of the nicest tracks I have ever been to in my life. The grounds and setup are amazing and Id say thats a perfect place for the ts event. The Pulls on Saturday had issues and IMO it would of been an idea to start them early when the sun came out briefly at 4pm. IMO the empty time just leaves time for the drunks to work on there profession a little bit.
However, I drove over 1,000 miles and spent over $1,000 dollars on the trip to compete in the show and shine at Franklin. I woke up to leave from my hotel and it was raining. I waited for the rain to slow and washed my truck then headed down to the event. I finally got to the gate at 2:45 to pay and enter the show and shine. Then I was denied access to the event? I even wanted to pay just to be in the show and shine then was denied. I have no clue why and was just told it was over already and I couldnt enter. I honestly thought the answers to be short, rude and unproffesional. I didnt want to stick my foot in my mouth so I just spent 30 minutes searching and I saw NOTHING on this site or on ts.com about there being a deadline for this event.
To top it off I was pointed to the parking lot which I was gonna be forced to drive through a mud pit to find a parking spot. Say what you want but I dont even drive my truck in the rain if I dont have to. So to drive through the Kentucky red dirt was not on my list of to do's.
Last year I won 1 of the top 10 plaques for diesels at this same event. 1 year later I was denied access?! I have entered hundreads of truck shows and I myself find it more of an honor to have someone walk up to your truck and look at it with a compliment or 2 then get any award. I could see the judging be over. But, I couldnt even enter the field?
I know this site and the event is full of enthusiats which is what I am. Sorry if I dont have a pulling truck or a 12 second race truck but I do have a truck thats looks decent and I travel to attend. My fiance and I love the drags, and pulls. I dont go for the bikini contests, to get hammered or start trouble. I also find it an honor to go to one of these events and be able to compete for something. I found it a disgrace to come to the event and go through everything to be turned away towards a field.
