VE Hot Rod pump

I wouldnt trust em. But im just thinking about that huge chunk of change and absolutely no reputation of the seller.

If hes gonna buy one tell him to call scheid and they will set him up. They have been tinkering with the VE's for a little while now and have some pretty crazy pumps.

And the the 4mm/14mm combo does not last long, the one I built lasted about 400 road miles and 4 dyno pulls before it seized up. Then again im not a professional pump tech either.

What kinda fuel/additive package were you running? How much fuel pressure?

50% red dye, 50% veggie oil, and a whole bottle of grey power service...lol. And fuel pressure was boost ref from 10psi at 0psi boost to 60psi at wot. A1000 fuel system.

Watch the vid in my sig and then watch the run away vid and youll see what happened.

I'm running a similar 50% red, 50% bio and powerservice. That's a scary ride on the dyno. Did you have an air shutoff?

hi josh

(dont acknowledge that you know me...they think i am the antichrist here)

glad to see you finally got er done

sorry to see it didnt last

you gonna move on and p-pump it?

2 grand for a ve with a 14mm and 4mm plate? And they'll throw in a $20 gov spring and $100 fuel pin for only $550? What a steal!

Giles at performance diesel in Ontario is the best choice for ve pumps. Makes big numbers on vw ve pumps.

yes - the 4mm cam plate and the 14mm will not last
we are runnin a 2.8 cam plate and so far so good - runnin 2 stroke oil for lube in the fuel

seeker1056 up above had his pump done by giles.

I beleive his website is performancediesel.ca

Most other shops just turn up the fuel screw.
Giles actually takes everything apart and machines things for more advance etc etc.
You can find him on 1stgen.org or vwdiesel.net

well my giles pump just turned 4600 rpm in second gear at half throttle with no sign of powerin down - so I am duly impressed - especially with two turns left on the fuel screw

woulda pushed it harder but a pull truck on the street is a handful and as well, I dont think 4600 rpm is a necessity as yet with our setup - so more isnt necesary either

After we get hooked to the sled, and the dyno in a couple weeks I will post how we did

if we dont break sumthin pullin that is , :Cheer:lol
