My wife's truck is going to get pushed off a cliff. Since it hit 100k it has been one thing after another. I've sunk about $3500 into various things in the last 6k miles.

Now it's vibrating in the rear on decel, doesn't matter if you are on the brakes or not. It shakes the mirrors violently when it passes through 20 mph.

It started doing this about three days after I put a clutch in it. I've been under the truck twice now to check over my work. U joints feel tight. I marked the driveline yokes and put them back together the way the flanges were oriented, when I put it back together.

Feels like the carrier bearing U joint is seizing. But, usually I've had them vibrate on accel AND decel when that joint was bad. I'm gonna pull the rear driveline this weekend.

Just looking for other thoughts or ideas.

I'd start with that joint you mentioned and inspect that carrier bearing thoroughly.

Edit: Did you check the backlash in the pinion when you had the drive shaft off? Just a quick feel by hand.
