VP44 SO/HO Interchangeability

I'd say try another SO pump. Everyone that has put an SO pump on their trucks has lost some bottom end but gained on the top end and has been able to use the higher power levels of their boxes. None of them have reported the issues that you had.
 
Completely agree with big blue.

Without starting a brand bashing thread, where did you pick up the SO pump? Did you pick it up new, or used?

The bottom end seat-of-the-pants feel will drop. However, you will pick up WAY more on the top end. Completely worth it.

I picked up an SHO pump from Rip at Source. He didn't make any stupid claims about the pump, and just said "it will fuel like an HO down low, and an SO in the upper RPMs." I dynoed on tiny, stock injectors and made 354hp, but 885 ftlbs of torque... Way different ratio than average.

I would really try another SO pump.. Dyno the HO first, then the SO, and I'm betting you don't go back.
