VP44 trouble, not typical & YES i SEARCHED

I've never heard anything bad about the Timbo APPS. I've only heard good things about them.

Let's rule out the MAP. Unplug the Map at the block but leave it plugged into the Comp. See how it runs.
When i ran the Comp i never had my Map plugged in. Loved the low end power.

So how does the comp know to add fuel as the manifold pressure increases? Does it basicly trick the computer in to thinking it has full boost all the time?

Update part III problem SOLVED!

Get a new sensor for the rear while your at it. The 01-02 engines need a speed signal fuel, seems a 98-00 does too but I'm not sure. If the PCM isnt seeing speed I may just think your doing nothing.

Roachie is the winner! Speed sensor was the issue, put a brand new one it & the thing runs strong now! My apologies for not getting back to this thread sooner, I know it is in bad form to start a thread & not stay more on top of it, just really busy w/ work these days.

Now to hijack my own thread:

Doesnt the comp need MAP data? or no b/c it is a "piggy back system" I will pull the MAP this afternoon & check it out, but I would like to know more as well.

Thanks again to everyone for their help w/ the original problem!

The Comp does boost fooling. So it tricks the ECM, that's what allows you to have excessive boost without trowing a CEL.
Just leave the harness plugged into the the Comp but unplugged from the MAP sensor on the block.
It gives you more fuel off idle without high boost. The Comp reads the TPS & doesn't rely on the boost signal.
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.

MAP disconnected.... WOW!

Ok I got time today to try this.... It does indeed fuel harder off idle... BIG TIME. The difference is definitely noticedable as I ran back to back runs w/ the MAP connect at the block & w/ out. I dare say there was less surge as well (which is an issue w/ my trubo 64/65/13 ) I am curious as to who else is running w/o their MAP connected and their results?
