What is 2.5", 2.8", etc??

The classes we have here in Idaho are labelled stock, modified, etc. The diesel trucks are super popular at some of the pulls.. I have pulled in stock class with just 1 or 2 other trucks before.

2.5" is my favorite as well. I like watchin truck i could see runnin around town later on. I'm sure theres trucks just for pullin in 2.5 but a guy stands a better shot maybe at havin a real street drivin truck in there. Just my opinion but maybe someone can persuade me to another class haha.

I like mod just because with my twins thats the class I have to run in, and I drive my truck everywhere I need to go and it get's me there everytime... and gets me there fast:ft::st: LOL!

What the hell are you smoking?

Mine takes me to work every day and gets 18mpg.

I think what Tom is talking about is trucks that consistantly finish top 5 at national events. Purpose built pullers that are never driven on the street.

I wasn't putting your truck down, I should have been more clear, I was talking about high strung p-pumped trucks. And as to your question? Marlboro Mediums, why???:)

No offense taken...

I kind of thought you were talking that ole 12 valve language!

Justin,

You don't need anyone to tell you that you have one of the hardest running, most consistent common rail trucks out there on the pulling scene, maybe the only one......

I think some of you guys that like the street level stuff need to watch the mod class once and a while. Those guys pushing a motor that far are fun to watch.

The poll needs to be a bit bigger, Super Street, big singles, and limited twins, stock frame, dot tires, with any drivetrain. ex--Robert Millers truck last year.

Sadly, the Mod class has not grown near enough to support the purses it requires, but the number of hooks and organizations running it has grown.

Part of the blame, rests on the very guys who made the class so awesome- the shop trucks. Numerous times, I have heard guys building trucks to AVOID a Scheid/Haisley/Mitchell truck.

"I' d like to build a Mod, but I don't want to run against Kent, Van, Curt."etc

I think that is some of what keeps the smaller classes so popular, and growing.

Those trucks are definately fun to watch, but to me it is more fun to watch something that I could realistically build one day.

I always enjoyed the unlimited single class but is has seemed to go away, but I also remember when a 3.0 charger was big for an unlimited....LOL

I couldn't vote for all of the choices but 2.5/2.6 classes are great very competitive and after TS it look's like there will be another strong running truck in the mix.....Congrats Brandon.

Uhh...
I think I already hooked against those guys several times (Indy, Scheids, Gaston) if your talking about the PA truck.

Seriously though, my truck is behind the game at the moment (need clutch rebuild, and time to install a new hitch and injectors).
A local truck (WFO-Justin Bowling-03 Red Dually) cleaned up around here last year for the last half of the year. This year Mason (WFO's brother-04.5 Black Dually) should be out setting the standards in Cummins common rail pulling at the street 2.8 level.

I plan to sit this season out for some rest, family time and to enjoy being a spectator for a change at the truck pulls.......And of course talkin' a little smack!:hehe::rockwoot:

I'll start by saying I like all the classes, but my two favorites in order are the 2.5 then Mod.

2.5 is something you could see/drive everyday which ups the cool factor, and the Mod's are just insane.

The other classes are too in between for me (personal opinion), as they can't be used to their full potential as a truck (i.e. heavy towing on street), and as far as power they don't touch the Mod's. Don't get me wrong, I feel the sport needs them to survive as they are logical stepping stones between full street and Mod, and I know there are pullers and fans whose favorites they are, it's just they don't interest ME as much as the two stated above...

Imagine that...........:hehe:

Tom,
Too bad you don't live out this way because your truck would be legal at many of our local pulls....RUN WHATCHA BRUNG!!
This is why you wont here much talk of workstock in Indiana.

I like Mod. It's like going to a pull and seeing the Alcohol Super Stock tractor class and asking when Farm Stock pulls because the tractor is like yours.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the classes and I normally compete in WS or 2.5, but you just can't beat the mods. They put on a show.:rockwoot:

Believe it or not, I like the tractors that still look like tractors too. Not the fiberglass bodied things, but the ones that still have an operational 3pt hitch, and PTO. Guess im wierd?
