Guys I have a htt 66/71/16ss right now but Im thinking of trading it for a s475. Do you guys think this would be a smart decision. I want to pull in the 2.6 class and was wondering if this would be a good turbo to go with. This will be my first year pulling so any help would be awesome. Thanks

BR

You will need a stepped cover to run it in the 2.6 class. A S475 is a 3.0 turbo.

Make sure your rules allow stepped covers, and make sure you know what your getting. You get the wrong s475 and you won't be able to get it lit until about 3000 rpm.

If you have a manual and can turn 4000-4500 you can run the s475 with the big turbine, if you can't then you can run the one with the small turbine wheel.

Is a s475 gana be to big though? My pump should flow 500cc when I get it back from the shop.

If it doesn't carry enough rpm down the track it won't matter anyway. Say he comes out at 5000, but once he slips off the clutch and it drops to 3300 its gonna be on the edge of CHUF CHUF CHUF CHUF :hehe:

For his application the big turbine wheel is not going to be a good option.

There aren't that many rules around here as far as turbo inducers, stepped covers, etc.

What would be the small turbine and A/R? I am thinking along the same lines, and I have an auto and run 4500 rpm then it will shift and then run 3800'ish down the track.

83x74 with a .90 a/r turbine.

Sell the 66 and buy a S465 (2.6) from Forcedinductionns.com and you'll have $$ left over. You want a S465 with the Extended Tip wheel (ETT) and 83mm turbine wheel and either a .90 or 1.0 A/R exh housing. I'm running a S464(my class was 2.5 last year)on my puller with 83turbine & .90 housing from FI and love it!
