Just like the title says & do I need an external gate? When I bought the turbo they said with the larger wastegate ports in the ss housing I would not need an external gate, but wanted your guys thoughts.

Ive heard that about that turbo too. But as a bottom turbo Id go w/ a s475 or a s480 depending on your goal.

475 will work fine as is. with a 480 the gates will start to get restrictive up top. if you run NOS external is mandatory.

I think a 362/475 set is good for 750hp. basic rule is bigger wheels = slower spool, but housings/porting make a big difference.

So is an s475 an s475 or do they come in diffarent configurations such as ex housing size wheel sizes & that sorta thing?

Depending on fuel, you will probably want the T-6 1.32 a/r 96mm turbine wheel.

s475 is a s400 with 75mm wheel, pn 171702.

there are many different sizes,71,78,80,etc.

Gt45 for mass power or a gt4202 for daily driver with great smoke control with super spooling and a great tow setup.

I run an S480 (race cover) under my Htt 62/71/13ss

I see around 64-67 total psi.....It made 766 on a dyno but my current times would suggest a bit more than that to the ground...Calulator with conservative weight was around 800..

I really like the setup....With your 65 turbine wheel, its gonna spool even faster than mine!!

Lets say I go with the T-6 1.32 a/r 96mm what size injectors do I want? I like the smoke to be mostly cleaned up at full boost but a little haze is ok.

This is the setup I am considering. I love the super fast spool that I have now. Do these light real fast? Street light to street light driving?

I would probably step up to a set of 5x14's and a set of 022 delivery valves.

Well, the spool is definately pretty good but It's no stock turbo type spool...

My truck drives great on the street but since my build consisted of Decompressing the piston by .100, my off idle low end is a bit less....So they seem to light and start pullling pretty good at around 1600-1800 rpms....

If your going to have stock pistons / stock compression ratio, they may light even a bit quicker!!

But they are Totally livable on the street!!! If you not wanting to go quite so high on hp, an S400 (74-75) would be even better on spool.....Still enough air for 700+ I bet......

I'm around the 780-800 range and TOTALLY clean, so the S480 would be best for growing room....

BTW, the s480 Race cover is supposed to accept up to an 88mm wheel for the future if you wanna go Really big!!!!

In my opinion an 80mm primary is a little big for a daily driver 12v. Big difference between a CR and a 12v as far as spool-up and smoke.
