What primary with my 62-65-13ss

In my opinion an 80mm primary is a little big for a daily driver 12v. Big difference between a CR and a 12v as far as spool-up and smoke.

I daily drive my 62/71/13SS over S480 setup...12v, 550cc's, TIGHT converter. If I had a stick, I'd love them...with the tight converter, it's a big trade off. Spools around 2000-2100RPM, then it's off to the races. Another problem is I keep finding more boost leaks.

Towing, with 3.55's and 32.5" tires you can't use OD with any weight over about 5K lbs, and under 70mph. That's with a ported head, and Helix 2 cam...12v's just don't move any air.

I think I'm about to step down to a 57mm top charger, and either try it with the 80mm, or I have a couple ball bearing chargers I might try.

since there a tread on turbos already i have been reading up on aurora 3000 turbo and seen it doesnt have a waste gate does anybody know how it preforms and i sure a many of us have heard the wastegate open up after you have go give it alot of fuel when carrying a heavy load and when you let off it opens so my question is how does the 3000 get rid of the extra boost after you let out of it. It may not matter when someone has a 5-or 6 speed but mines an automatic. Or if someone knows alot better turbo let me know i mostly only tow with my truck so i dont really wont to lose that much spooling cant afford twins maybe something i can just add one on later. thanks didnt try to steal your tread

Are you sure about the 74 turbine side?

Yes that is what Smokem suggested to me originally with my 5x.012 injectors.. The truck is used for daily driving, and towing.. Spoolup is very important to me.. I will ask him again in a pm.

It is not the wastegate you hear opening when you get out of the throttle, that is the compressed air coming back around the compressor wheel. This is caused by the drive pressure on the exhaust side suddenly dropping off as you jump out of the throttle. This causing more pressure on the intake side, than the exhaust side. So both wheels try to spin in the opposite direction.

I will assume Smokem was suggesting a 74/83 with a 1.10 housing, which would work good if quick-spool is your primary goal.

Well my goals are to have a compound set that has minimal lag, and cools my mods while towing... I hate to spend alot more on a custom turbo for superfast spool, and it not really have the cooling of a basic s400.. He also suggested a 1.25 ar housing.. I am extremely pleased with the spool up I have now.. I will be stepping up my stock injectors to 5x.014 Smokem's style..
