What to do about a turbo?

I dont think they have an inducer limit. Or at least they dont state that they do. It just says stock appearing factory turbo. Here is a link to the rules:

And what it says about turbo's:

"Turbocharger: The turbocharger is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM/Factory charger only.
Turbochargers from different years and different models may be interchanged. You are allowed
to take a hx35 off a Cummins and put on your Duramax or vice versa and you are allowed to put a
Duramax Turbo in your 82 Chevrolet with a 12 valve) 6.4L Powerstroke turbo is permitted."

Get close to what?

Are you saying its not stock appearing, or that it wont flow nearly the air that the ones you speak of would?

Yeah, thats what i thought you were getting at. That is why it is aggrovating that I cant run my HX40. I know its not outflowing anything else i would be pulling against, yet I cant run it legally.

have you tried to run it or do you just think that you wont pass i would try
i pull with a duramax in stock appearing and they dont have a inducer limit and he runs a cheetah 68mm but dont have to worry about him much since he can rarely light his turbo and if he does it still doesnt pull that great
 
I havent tried. I just hate to get protested or something like that. I dont see that anyone would protest me, but that would probably be my luck.

Pulling is a lot about how much you can bend the rules it seems.

Yes there is. At my home town Thursday night they are having work stock.

It would suit me to just leave this HX40 on here and not mess with it since i am pretty happy with how it runs. I know a couple people that help run the organization, and I guess i could always ask. Im not sure who does the teching though.

Maybe i will just pull work stock, and then if i ever get lucky enough to place and someone protests me, Ill just be happy enough about placing to agree with the protest:hehe:

i would go to the pull dont say anything about it if maybe you will get a guy that doesnt no anything like a guy that is teching that owns a duramax for our pulls he just looks at it and asks is it a stock turbo i say yea and he says ok your good he doesnt know anything about dodges but i actually do run a hx35 for now as long as you dont have a polished compressor housing it wont stick out for some to think to protest it
 
Well, I sold some parts, so an HE351cw is in the very near future. I think i have one lined up to buy, but I will be getting one and putting it on hopefully by mid August.

Then I will be selling my HX40. Should be good to go if i want to pull work stock then with this HE351cw :rockwoot: I plan to eventually really find out what this turbo will support on a 12 valve. It should run pretty good with my current fueling, but my injectors and this turbo should really make for a fast spooling, good running and towing truck I hope. I also think with my Injectors in that mid-low 13's should be a problem, and I think with some more timing, a rack plug, and maybe some other tweaks that high 12's arent out of the question.

I will be posting a thread with pictures of the installation and parts as they go on once i start rounding things up. Im pretty excited to get this done and see how it runs though:rockwoot:
