Ok got a local pull next month, no real rules run what ya brung type event. By then Ill have the following in addition to the mods in my sig:
laser cut d/v's
rack plug
.093 crossover tubes (already has .093 lines)
silver bullet
considering smokems 7X0.014s
2 stage water injection, doubt I'll let the 2nd hit
possibly a valair dual disk, I like south bend but thats another $1000
It will have a dd either way
Reinforced hitch
ladderbars
I may fab in my hood stack cause I want to look cool breaking stuff.
I dont think ill have time for u joint shields

No head studs, no valvetrain, no O-rings. Like the title says what am I going to break? And somebody guess my HP, please.

Put U joint shield and loops before all else. A spit driveshaft can take a lot of other stuff with it.

leats start that the motor and work back......

head gasket
input shaft
main shaft
output shaft
t-case
drive shaft u-joints front and rear
drive shafts front and rear
ring and pinions front and rear
spider gears front and rear
inner axles shafts
axle u-joints
outter stub shafts
rear axle shafts.....

cant really think of anything else you might break........

he will never hurt the head gasket or anything else the spider gears or a u joint will break first.

I been pullin with an HX55, big injectors, LV DV's, 26* timing, stock valvetrain, 3k springs, DD clutch, no ladder bars, no shields, no fuel plate. no head studs, stock head gasket. I think thats it. Nothing broke yet. Im waiting though

Last I talked to them (VA) it was in the 1200 range for a DD with a billet flywheel.. (if you are going to pull, you will need the billet flywheel.) You will need to upgrade your input shaft.. ask them if they have their billet input shafts in production.. they should be much cheaper than other prices I have seen..
Move the shields higher on the list...
I think Logan covered the highlights...

The Valair dd I priced had a 3800 plate, bronze inserts in the flywheel, and the large shaft, and it came out at $1900. The southbend I priced was an iron giant 2 so all the stuff for it was going to be right at 3k. I think the lesser clutch would put a limit on how much power I build. Actualy a good thing.

Trying to move the shields higher up the list. May make it may not.

I have 4k spring in the pump and no valve train, I dont see me pulling and trying to hold 3500.

Wallet is already hurting, pride? At least Ill have enough power to break something, that is some pride.
Im mostly concerned about drive train.

Why do you need an Iron Giant 2 (3 disc)?
At your power level an Dual Disc is probably more than enough.

With a Silver Bullet your probably going to be at an honest 600hp give or take.

I run a SBC DD Iron Giant and thats at close to 700rwhp.

Oh yeah, your going to blow a gasket pretty quick spraying water and tons of fuel.

I can't wait to get my iron giant upgrade now. as of today my truck is no longer my daily driver (again) for this season because i put my jeep on the road.

Sorry, the iron giant was a DD. I ordered a Valair 2 days ago.
Hopefully the head gasket can survive 1 hook.
What gear 4th lo, 1st high?

I just have to make one hook, maybe two before I get another driver and can start really building this one. My schedule has one pull on the 12th, rod run the following weekend, and I think bowling green is the week after that. May not go to bowling though. 600 should satisfy for a little while:bs:

With a 5 speed your not gonna have enough power to pull a direct gear as 4th low. 1st high is to low also, I think you could pull 2nd hi no problem and on a light sled or loose track you might get by with 4th low. If you aren't out of it by 75ft though you might as well clutch it and try a lower gear.

Second hi is your best bet if you want to get down the track with some speed. You should be able to stay on top of that silver bullet with no issues. As others have said, ditch the hood stack idea and put that time into some driveshaft loops, or at least u-joint shields. Oh, and build some solid blocks for the rear suspension.

I would say the spider gears are weak. I have broke mine and need to step up to a locker or I will break them again soon.

if you come out of the hole nice and smooth, and don't jerk the truck your stock drive train will last. around 700hp output shafts like to break. Head gasket will be fine just retorque the head bolts. Also you can move the receiver hitch toward the front of the truck. There is one more set of holes. I think you have to drill one or two. Drive shaft loops are a must. I watch a guy put a hole in his fuel tank from the drive shaft. 3rd and low could work good for you
