what WILL I break?

if you come out of the hole nice and smooth, and don't jerk the truck your stock drive train will last. around 700hp output shafts like to break. Head gasket will be fine just retorque the head bolts. Also you can move the receiver hitch toward the front of the truck. There is one more set of holes. I think you have to drill one or two. Drive shaft loops are a must. I watch a guy put a hole in his fuel tank from the drive shaft. 3rd and low could work good for you

Around 600HP with a bity track you will probably blow the axle shafts. It is a toss up between the spider gears or the axle shafts. If it is a sand track you will be fine, you can probably put down 700+ and not have a breakage issue.

I seem to remeber the track being clay, maybe it was loose. Ill check. Stock trucks were pulling 3rd low to 250ft last year. They started spining at about that point, I would think I need some more ground speed than them.

zstroken, i got my new spiny thing today and imedetly took a buffer to it:ylsuper:

My brother could pull 3rd low all day on his old NV4500 and that was on a stock clutch with just a edge comp box. You will be fine pulling 2nd high, it's just a little harder on dirvetrain. You could possibly get by with 4th low just make sure it's a light sled and loose track. Just feel aroubnd a little bit, I have pulled maybe 6 times and it's gonna be a whole new ball game for me this year with all my mods and a dual disc.

Everything look ok with it? I would say the rest should be there Friday or Monday.

Yea, its fine. What was the wastegate set at when you took it off? Down pipe should be here monday.

What are we re-torqueing head bolts to now?

question on the u joint shields: what is the min. thickness of the walls legal to most pulling organizations?

I have some 7" stack layin around, looks to be 10ga. Most ive seen seem to be 1/4in though. Dont want to under build it.

And whats the max height for hitches?

most places run 26" hitch

and also i think i saw minimum 3/16" steel, or 1/4" aluminum in most of the rules I have read over.

I took my reciever of and started to brace it (an F350 hitch gave its life for this) I dont see a simple matter of sliding the hitch forward. Would I gain anything if I left the stock mounting points in position, then cut and move the reciever assy. forward? 2" maybe more? Or do I need to move the mounting pionts to get the most gain/ least leverage.

I though this was illegal in some classes?

Get the hitch point as close to the rear as possible. It needs to be the furthest most hook point. If the frame had zero flex then the point of hooking would be the only variable. I think the 2nd gen dodge frames flex in the last section, so if you could move the hitch receiver forward it would benefit you.
