Quiet as in couldn't hear it at 70 mph...didn't start to whistle till the boost got up above 20psi.
This week I thought I heard a few odd noises...even made plans to pull it and get it looked at by the builder. Today it was louder than normal then the last 20 miles I drove it sounded like it was at full boost at 6-7psi...I mean it was screaming. LOL
So....me being me...when I got into town close to the house I hammered it from a stop....and shelled it. LOL
Loud, crunchy grinding noises aren't right. LOL
So...I parked it......

Its a bad sound... I know how it sounds when a welder wire goes through the secondary... rookie mistake we made on my first set of twins.

I knew something was gonna happen...no big deal. You play enough you gotta pay sometime...I'm just wondering what caused it to get so loud over the last few days.

It's not the first turbo I've busted...probably won't be the last. The others though just went from fine to screeching real loud to POP, white smoke out the pipe and were done for....like all at once. This one was a fighter. LOL

6.0 parts come out the side of the block. This is nothing. LOL

I got it where you sent me then had a brand new tire put on then built a spare tire lock. LOL

Good to hear sorry I misunderstood. :) gotta have a lock on our side of town! Slap Tony for me when u go back to work!

i would think an oiling issue, like a restriction of some sort limited flow to the point it still functioned but was goin downhill the whole time. had 2 logsplitter motors basically do the same thing until they "big swoled" themselves lol

go bigger

Engine oil pressure is fine and the feed line for that turbo comes out of one of the 2 ports on the filter head. Oil pressure comes from the other.
Still....why would the whistle get so loud ? It wasn't a metal screech...I know that sound all too well. LOL

Wheel contacting housing? Mine made more or a screatching sound when I had an oiling issue. Right before it went clank clank clank I heard the wheel contacing the housing.

because no oil means no bearing so the compressor was not spinning as freely so the drive pressure was going up causing it to work a little harder to push the air thru the engine.

Sounds like the muffler bearings went out. Might want to check your blinker fluid while your in there.
