What's a good set up to run in the farm pullers 8000lb class

I assume people don't like the rules because they are too simple and because they allow nitrous. In my opinion there is no point in have complicated rules if you don't tech, look at what is going on in the PPL thread right now.

I agree with you that you don't need nitrous to be up front but your gonna have to spend some $$$$ to get it there nowadays. But if nitrous is in the rules there is no point in
b@&!hing, I didn't see any of these guy who are complaining about the rules show up to the meeting to vote whenever they were thinking of switching the open class to COTPC 2.6 rules and 2.5 NADM rules for the street class.

Why do you say lots of money. I've seen guys come down and run with them and they spanked them good. These guys were still using parts and turbos that people said was antique or won't work or couldn't be done.

What year was this? Because it's been a couple years since the usual 5 open class truck got waxed. I'm referring to Brian Vannest, PJ, Adam and Danny Johnson's old truck.

It was 2010 or 2011, if my memory serves me right. I'd still put my money on them today, but there getting like some folks, big money has ruined the sport.

A lot has changed in the pulling world in 3 years..

There are new/rebuilt trucks coming out next year, should make for a good season. Maybe we'll see you out there

I understand the a lot has changed in three years but anyone at any pull can be beat at any given moment. I doubt you will see me out, I have realized at this point in my life that there is a lot more important things in life than truck pulling. I have mentioned to my cousin about him running it, but he is like most people anymore and dosen't have the time. He has the desire to though. I guess I shall have to see what next year brings, but the way it looks right now for me, it would be 2016 before I could make it. I think I will put it up for sale by then.:Cheer:

Who ended up with that truck?

Can't remember his name, but here's a video of him pulling it at Wooster.

I enjoy pulling in the afpa events..and will continue to do so. Not nearly as bad of a organization as some people are making them out to be. Maybe not a perfect organization, but someone please tell me which one is...

Did he have one before the Extreme Addiction truck? That's a first gen in the video

On another note, is the one at 5:12 Adam Absten's old My Granddaddy?

The reason nobody has waxed brian or pj or anybody else in American farm pullers is because none of the big guys can come down here and run because the rules, 2 years ago Chris webb and Jeremy goyings came down to meigs and put 45 to 50 ft on vannest and low and behold they changed the rules. I know for a fact Meigs fair is doing away with the American farm pullers because it had the worst turnout of diesel trucks in 10 years down there this year.

huh.. a person earlier in this thread was expressing a differing opinion. stating that they havent changed the rules in 4 years. care to elaborate on which rule/rules were changed two years ago preventing those guys from coming back to pull

Maybe it's the fact that Chris Webb went to open driveline...rules didn't change, Chris changed his truck. Nothing would prevent goyings from pulling.

The entire organization is a bunch of phuks. I pulled with them at times for3 years. Put duals on two years ago nothing was said. Last year came out and was winning. After a couple wins I was told I couldn't pull because I didn't have a dually bed. Now tell me again how they don't change rules when there trucks aren't winning.

Next Meeting

The whole club has gone down the drain.. No body's wants in or wants anything to do with it besides a certain group of ppl from a certain shop.. So why waste your time with that bs.. An deff waste money as getting your $hit messed with at fairs an costing you thousands more an no fun.. Club is pointless an can't be gone so enough.. Coptc is top notch club an anyways will be..
