Where to put the fuel filter?

THANK YOU!!!!

exactly how i feel about the an fittings....

the only crappy part about my setup other then using an inline filter instead of the heater/filter assembly, is i'm keeping my stock mechanical lift pump..... and i'm tryin to decide where to put my fuel/water sep and fuel filter.... as well... lol

i'm thinkin fuel/water sep prior to lift pump (maybe instead of the russell 100micron inline filter) then the fuel filter after, but in an easier to access spot then the stocker (2 micron cat with any luck)

HMMMMMMMMM

Ill look at mine tonight and see if i can find the model number. It has -8 in and 3-8 outs boost refrence efi and -6 return. I was able to set it at 17 psi when i first put it on and only have mild mods on my vp. Im not even shure how high it goes too, but im hoping it goes to 60 plus for the new build.

Oh yeah, you are going VP again, aren't you...

If you have a blank sheet of paper, I guess I can search for my username and "filter base" and find you the part number of the base and 2 micron filters I run...I suppose I could do that for you;)

Here you go slacker

Chris

Ah, thank you.

Going on a VP yes, the pump is being driven off the power steering gear. So I'm worried about the pressure at high rpm. Thus I need a big ass regulator.

What pump is it for? I guess I just jumped to p-pump

Maybe look at Carburated regulators then, not the EFI stuff P-pump guys use

What about a 1312-A2000?

That one is perfect, $190...ouch. :thankyou2:

Cant find a small inline filter, 10 micron is the smallest I can find. I think this will work on the suction side though. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRF-MP-7006/

That would work...but I think a standard FS1212 Fleetguard water separator is 150 microns...I can double check, but that would hold a lot more crap than that little thing

I'm running an aeromotive 13301 with all 3/8 npt fittings, it comes with 2 springs to set pressure, can handle 2-60 psi for about 125.00. I am using it in a boost referenced cp3 setup, with 10 psi static and rising to about 65 psi when another 13301 limits max pressure. Wicked Diesels (Shane) told me that with a cp3 the higher inlet pressure flows more total output from any pump, to about 70 psi inlet. This is with dual walbro 392's, and a pair of filters (fleetgard from glacier) that are downstream of fuel pumps. One pump runs continuously, the other comes in at 25 psi on a hobbs switch. You might not care for the boost referenced part, but the bypass regulator is where it's at, and the walbros are nice, quiet, cheap powerful little pumps that mount anywhere. I have had this on my truck over a year now, and am very pleased so far.$.02
