I have found the 2nd gen turbos to be easier to adapt in a conversion. you can get a variety of elbow configurations for the compressor outlet, or build your own to suit your needs, you can also rotate the elbow in any direction.

i agree with the 2nd gen being eaiser to adapt. my fav. truck btw. i have a 77 and 78 crew cab
