Im going to need new tires somtime and im gona pull this summer. Im running the nitto mud grapplers rite now and i like the looks and i pulled with them this summer and they did pretty good. I realy would like to have the toyo mts but they only have them in 285/75/17. Im running 33/12.50/17 now. Am i gona loose much traction with the smaller width tire? Should i run the nittos again? I want a good all around tire. Road noise dont bother me and neither does the milage alongs they pull good and run on the road good. Ive thought about the truxus sts but i heard there soft and im gona run it all the time so i dont want it to lose its edge. So what should i do?

Would the toyo mts hook up good pullin or am i gona break stuff?

Yea but im gona be running on the street alot wont that round them some?

they have two different 285/70/17. But no 305/70/17. They do have a 305/65/17. I just dont understand all these sizes. Wouldnt i want at least a 75 or 12.50 since those are wider?

Ok i looked again and the 305/65/17 is the same as the 285/70/17 which i dont understand. The only difference between the 2 is the sidewall. Which one do i want to run between the two?

Second on the CTs. Great road characteristics, long life and they hook pretty good too. The middle number in a tire size is a percentage. 305-65-17 (305-width in mm, sidewall is 65% of width, 32.5% on each side of wheel, and 17 inch wheel). The 305-65-17 is gonna be wider than the 285-70-17, but they might be the same height.

TOYO MAKES A 295/70R17 M/T. They have a 4000lbs load carrying capacity and are right around 34x11.50. I sell a ton of them. I run TRXUS STS off road but they are very soft and don't wear as well. I take mine on and off all the time. The TOYO's are going to be a LOT quieter than the Mud Grappler. PM me if you have any more questions...Chris

305/70/17 is equal to a 33 12.50. Also look at the mickey thompson atz's. I also run the sts's on my 05 and drive the truck on the street. They actually aren't wearing to awful bad to my suprise... Maybe I can take some pictures of them tomorrow and show how much wear after 12,000 miles.

305/65/R17 BFG AT is equivalent to a 33x12.50R17, wears great on the street, grips great in the dirt and is 10 ply load rated,

I run the toyo m/t 285/75/r16 (32.8"d 11.2"w) I like this tire on and off the road but I haven't pulled with them yet. I am curious as to how they will do.

305 = width in millimeters, 70 = height of side wall in percentage of tread width.......tire is 305mm across, sidewall is 70% of that is 210mm......now there is 25.4mm per inch so that is a little 8.25 inches of sidewall so add 8.25+8.25+17(rim size) and you get a 33.5 inch tall by 12 inch wide tire..........hope that helps on figuring out the size........

I am running the 33x12.50x16 trxus mud terrians, they are a 10 ply tire. This tire hooks up great on and off road, i pulled with them a few times and i was very happy with them. Plus they are one of the cheaper tires in the market.

Hes right on the tire size. But the ATZ isnt that good for pulling. I used it last year and then switched to the STS. Much much better. Dont think you can go wrong with a BFG AT or STS. My personal preference is the STS.
