I have a terrible proble with the front end bouncing on my 04 crew cab F-250 PSD. It has leaf springs and straight axle. I was thinking about trying some traction bars. Wouldn't it work the same as the rear axle? Please post some pics if you have them. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Kyle

We are working on some bolt ons just for trucks like yours currently. I have had serious trouble out of my front end bouncing and flexing so thats the reason for us doing these new bars. Your sway bar will have to go but you wont even notice its gone. I hope we can get these ready for sale by pullin season.

is it bouncing up and down or is the tires trying to "kick" under the truck to the rear, like axle wrap???? if they are bouncing up and down you need some weight on the nose or a little more spring......you want the front end to float though, but im guessing your talking about axle wrap, yes they will fix that problem......friends of mine run them on 3 different hot street gas trucks and they work great......

It is hopping up and down, but I am guessing that it is because the axle is wrapping and causing the hopping. I hang almost 400lbs off the front, and it still hops. I think ill try some bars and see what happens. Does anybody have pics of their's? Thanks

this would probably help for 4wd launches at the track too..I will be intretsed in a set for an 04, beans.

I thought Mr. Corey tried them on "All Caught Up" and had no luck? As far as a pulling application.

I tried some of the home grown style with no luck. Wasn't the problem.

Mine flexes the spirings alot, you will see the tires just goin all over the place out of the hole and then it will get into a up and down motion. I know mine is wrapping bad cause we hade some cheasy ones in there and I broke the driver side one twice.

beans, you say that I would have to remove the sway bar for your traction bars, correct? Are you building ladder bars that bolt to the sway bar mounts? Do you think it will break the saddle on the drivers side?

build ya a good set and go from there, i would say it will cure your problem......

We better to have a ladder bar style or a single bar style on each side? Thanks

Better to have a ladder bar style unless its just some stout tube for a single.

It will bolt to where the sway bar goes but it will be reinforced and hold just fine.

the ones we built to run on the front is the single bar setup with tabs welded on to mount them below the axle, they work pretty good, they are tractor heims that were cut in half and extended with thick wall tubing......

Unless they attach in front of the axle or have a way to let the axle move front and back they will continue to brake. The shackle is at the rear of the diff.. The axle moves forward when the front end lifts. If it can't float you will still have hop.

The ones we had on mine had shackles at the back of them just under the stock shackle. It broke cause it wasnt enough bar and I flexed it too much.

I cant believe no one has tried reversing the shackels like we used to on the gasser trucks. In the older fords we would reverse the shackles, run a traction bar,and put dual shocks on them and they would be fine.

Cause I still drive mine on the street and it is rough enough as it is.

Makes sense, but Im talkin about the guys that dedicate there trucks more towards pulling. And in most cases the guys that dedicate them more to pulling and dont care about street manners do better.
