widest 33" tires - who makes em??

The two people I know that ran those steam roller Baja Claws switched to a the skinnier STSs and did better. If you need width what about going dually. 4 33" STS should get it done.

How do the wide mtz's compare to sts's?

wider isnt always better, they might help on a loose track but on a very tight track they will not grip very well.

Go dually weld your axle tubes and go for it. it will then be do you have the power to pull it off with 4 sts's on the back.

On a loose track I've seen 15.50 MTZ's walk all over STS's, but never seen them compaired on a tight track.

Thats what I would expect, on a loose track they can maximize the grip without digging in too deep and make the most of what surface is there. But I think they will want to "float" too much on a hard track, larger contact patch means less pounds per square inch, so when you get them on a good tight clay track, instead of wanting to dig in and bite, they will want to stay on top and spin.

I might be be way off here...but thats just the way I see it.

Hmm - duals are far more tire than a single 15.5 and I was lookin for a mid point between a 12:50 and duals - not to mention i dont have the spring clearance for duals - its a srw.

Does anyone have a measured tread width on the MTZ?

From lug to lug I get 13", from side biter to side biter I get 15"

now what about the 15.50's with say 5.13's or 5.38 gears, or even as low as 6.17's.......

curious - In trying to price a set of the MTZ's I get conflicting sizes

Are they actually listed as a 375/55/16 or as a 33/15.5/16 and for those of you runnin em what does the sidewall say for size?

thanx
