wierd sound

My buddy has an 05 lly and he says that sometimes when he starts it and drives it is sounds like a lifter is going bad. He also thinks that it could be an exhaust leak. It only comes from the drivers side so thats why he thinks its an exhaust leak. it doesn't do it all the time. just every so often. Sometimes it will do it for a couple of days then go away for a week or longer then come back. he has 75,000 miles on the truck and just has a air dog edge juice and the ppe on it for now. If any thoughts on to what it could be.:bang

Mine did the same exact thing I put some lucas fuel treatment in it and it stopped!! It took it about 1 full tank before it started to go away I did it for about 2 or 3 tanks. Let me know how this works for you!!!

yea my buddy uses. power source additive. i will tell him to use the lucas. It is winter here now so i don't know how well the lucas will be in the tank. doesn't it get kinda gelly when its cold.
