It's got a 16 on the back now with a slick, but would like to go with a 15 because there are mire tire options. Anyone know if it fits and if not, how I can make it fit? Thanks in advance

Come get those extra set of drums I have and find a machine shop that will mill the outsides down and get rid of the cooling fins ive been told that is about the only way you will be able to do it and thats the reason I had that extra set. The other day when I tried to get you to take them I had totally forgot why I had 2 sets til just now. Michael at hotrod diesel is the one who told me to do that ifrc, I just never got around to doing it.

I should still have those drums around here some where if you want them.
I hope I haven't thrown them out.

Iv got my 15's with the slicks mounted, they clear onthe 1st gen just fine but not sure about a dually. I'd let you try them but I have no truck to meet you some where.

If you have a plasma you can just trim all the cooling fins off and grind it pretty.

You're talking about the stock drums right? (Still haven't seen my dually in person, so don't know)

You're saying I could just grind down the drums to fit 15in wheels?

(Sorry for reviving this thread, but it saves me from starting my own, which I almost did. See, I searched! :D )

About time you learned something!LOL

Yeah, they are talking about grinding down stock drums.

I was looking at Wade's slicks, but you'd have to buy some custom $1000 wheels to run them.

Really, or are you being sarcastic?

Why buy used slicks when new ones ain't that bad.

I've looked around (probably not in the cheapest places) but slicks seem to run as much as mud tires. Thats pretty pricey. Just trying to save a few hundred bucks where ever I can.

I still wanna know what big blue meant about the 1000 dollar custom wheels.

EDIT: First I should ask, do you need special wheels for slicks to begin with? I found some wheels on summit that are 14in wide for pretty cheap. Is a 17in slick safe to run on a 14in wide wheel?

17in. The wheels I was looking at were just the Bart's trucker wheels. 15x14 with 3.5 backspacing.

you need under 4'' backspacing to run on a 2500 with a dana 70

been too lazy to take the duals off and see what kind of back spacing is needed for a dana 80

It's a 94 3500 dually, not sure on rearend or gears yet. Thats why I looked for 3.5 bs.

Those are the exact wheels I was talking about, but black lol. I'm just afraid they are really heavy.
