Wont start

Well it must have gone somewhere.....I wouldn't crank that over until you find out. Most times if it falls down in there you gotta take the bottom end apart to find it.

If you mean the timing case then ya, but the bottom end is no where close to where the pump and cam gear are.

Maybe your talking about the oil pan......

He means the bottom end. It's likely that it fell all the way to the oil pan and odds aren't very good that it'll come out with the oil. Usually if you drop something it tends to stay in the pan.

Yeah I meant it falls all the way to the pan and you'll probably have to drop the pan (which is a PITA) to get it.

Thats no joke but you do have a chance it it in the front case but due to the fact that you have been trying to start it for hours now and had it running for a bit i would say odds (80%) are its in the oil pan

was the key's degree number etched on the side of your pump? if so, you can just buy a new key and throw it on the pump and get it back in the truck..

Ah ok, ive got a trick for that. I think i can drop the pan just enough to get my flexy magnet in there. If not i was gonna undo the motor mounts get a engine hoist and lift up just enough to drop the pan.

Not sure i was gonna call midwest monday and order another.

Ive got an idea since i want to pull the front cover off why not put a cam in.....
