So a guy wants me to tow a T250 and an S300 700 miles on my gooseneck, I'm not worried about the trailer just wondering if i should haul that much weight that far with my truck. It's a 99 24v 5spd 2wd dually flatbed, (cab and chassie) with intake exaust and FASS. What do you guys think? would you do it? Driving on mostly flat ground, no mountains or anything. Thanks!

I pull two s220's together some. It's a pretty heavy load. I have triple axle with 7000 lb. axles. I wouldn't go very far with that weight on my trailer but you may have a heavier trailer. I'm thinking gross is around 33,000 with that load.

If your trailer is heavy enough and your truck is licensed for that much weight, I would strap them down and haul a$$.

I have no idea what the hell a T250 or an S300 is, but I'd be worried about weight and the DOT troopers more than the truck handling it. I had a '99 4x4 3500 5 speed and I'll tell ya right now, no way would I try #30,000 for 700 miles like I would this truck. That '99 was a turd. :D If all you have on it is an intake, exhaust, and a FASS, it is going to be a looooooooong trip.

Bobcats, about 10k each, I'm not really worried about how long it takes me to get there, just wondering if the truck can handle it. I think i'm gonna tell the guy i'll do it if he agrees to pay for any overweight ticket i might get... planning on driving there in the dark though to avoid traffic and most cops ect...

Are there weigh stations where you are?

I wouldn't worry about getting an overweight ticket, id be worried about them impounding your rig till someone else shows up with another trailer to haul one of the bobcats the rest of the way. $.02

I don't know what your state laws are, but I've hauled some extreme loads, but I don't have a DOT number so I don't have to stop at weigh stations. Haul the load, just take it easy on your truck and you shouldn't have a problem.

I'd do it, but then again I'm always one who accepts a good challenge! Do you have an exhaust brake?

I had a buddy who grossed 43K on one of his loads. Pulled it approx 150 miles no prob. Had to kick in 4wd to get going up a lil hill, but after that it was smooth sailing. I would have rocked the truck!

I dont see it as a matter of if you would make it, but rather how much do you want to donate to the DOT? Unless you are 100% sure that everything is in full DOT compliance I'd be very hesitant to go that far, your bound to come across a weigh boy in a bad mood in 700 miles. Pickups are they new favorite prey in my neck of the woods, and there are very very few that they dont find some kind of issue with.

bobcat makes lots of equipment, which one might you be talking about :)

I don't think that is quite right, you may want to check.

I don't think I'd personally haul more than 15K if it was that far. Slowing down is the biggest problem with heavy loads and a relatively light duty pickup.

I'll second that! I hauled 11,000 lbs of fence material with mine. I grossed out at 24,600 and it was easy going up, coming down sucked! NOT enough brakes!

T250 and an S300, I think i put that in the first post mabye? The semi worked alot better than I think my truck would have lol

Yea I was giving you a hard time since you didnt say what kind of equipment it was. Im too lazy to look up numbers, are they skidsteers?

My dad used to pull his D5 on a 40ft gooseneck all the time with his 2000 3500 4x4 5spd, but it is no where near stock. He would set his cruise on 70mph and cruise on down the road.

Now he uses a Freightliner with the 8.3l Cummins and he is pissed because his pickup pulls the load better. lol

I want to say that load was well over 40k, and the truck weighed a good 10k also.

Yeah they are Bobcats. One is a track machine and the other a rubber tire machine.
