Is there early and late versions? How do I tell the difference?

There's actually 3/4 different C/S. Early GM with removable gears, short reverse splines. Early Dodge that was a carry over with removable gears and shorter splines and the early Dodge without removable gears and short splines (these two can be swapped), and later style Dodge & GM version without removable gears and long reverse splines.

I have a line on a whole pick-up bed ful of 4500s, 5600s and G-56s from a yard that had sent their cores to a shop to build, then the shop went under.

Been trying to get an answer out of them on the whole mess for 8 months now.
Meanwhile it just gets rustier. :bang

Otherwise, I do have a 1998 2wd transmission with no bell or shifter stick parts, for $450.
