Yet another "popping" problem thread...

i am also having the same problem with it poping at higher rpms. I have a 94 that i am doing a frame off resto on and i finally got it running a few weeks ago. i had the engine built by Enterprise Engine Performance and had them oring, new pistons, file fit rings, 60lb springs, bigger cam. pump timing is 16.5* with lee 5x16 sac injectors air dog 200 with a # 10 plate ff and afc ff, 4k gov springs and a borg warner 66/74/14 turbo. the truck starts fine and idles fine but when i get into the higher rpms it doesnt run so well. it starts poping real bad and alot of white smoke. i dont mean to hijack ur thread but im out of options!! :bang

Sorry, I didnt see the part where you said you are getting 40psi. I just googled the pump and it said 15psi was what it put out? It could have been wrong though. I think the stock lift pump is 18-24 psi at idle, 28-36 at 2000 rpm with no load, and can go up some from there with RPM. Regardless, 40psi is plenty as long as you have enough volume.

You need to get a new google. Yours lied to you! :poke: Here's the pump specs.... Again with a Tork Tek 37-45 psi OFV I get 40 PSI into the pump....
