How safe is it to inject laughing gas in compounds with no external gate for dyno

62/71/14 with spring gate over 80/92/1.1 with 12mm ppump and 5x18s. Will be dynoing my pickup this next weekend and wondered how safe it would be to inject interstage with a large jet at wot without an external gate. I have a 60mm wastegate but have not welded the flange onto my manifold yet. I would rather have a 38mm but the 60 is what i have. As short as a dyno run is what can it hurt, right? Flame away..

I'm borrowing a NOS cheater solenoid. I believe the orfice is only a .091 orfice so I was going to run that size jet into my interstage pipe. Timing is set at 27* also.

lower your timing if your going to spray, will this be at the kansas dyno thing the 14th?

yessir in emporia. I've gone to one of their meets and it was more or less a firstgen.org circle jerk about how much more baddass their hx35 is compared to so-and-sos h1c but I would like to get on the rollers none the less. Will you be attending?

My pump is pinned at 17.5* and I'm sitting at 27.5* right now. Think maybe 20-22* would be ideal. My plans are for saturday but if I don't get my input shaft and twins installed friday night we might come down sunday. **** if it is laid back I might try a couple different sets of injectors/dvs/timing changes.

when I spray I stay around 18-20, but some times I feel froggy LOL You should have a good bit of fuel left over with those twins vs your fuel so the giggle juice should help out quite a bit.

I need some info on this event....

Epically post by a dumb phone.

I was suppose to pull this weekend but my billet input got "lost in the mail" so this will be a virgin run on these injectors. schied 5x18 vco 145* with edge filter drilled out and unknown pintle lift. Also running an early version of westons comp dvs. plan on pushing the little 80mm!

I'm not a n2o guru, but after a discussion with the master, nitrous seems much less tricky than I thought. I asked about pulling timing for to run a pretty heavy shot and he said its not really needed.

As for when more gate is needed I would say it depends on the setup and current pressures. If you are already pushing stock gates to their max I would hesitate to add much more.

I'm afraid if I put a gate on my manifold I am gonna get cocky and start using it at brush pulls. That is fine and dandy until I start melting turbines.

Just like Ahall said I would not pull any timing. There will be no fire until the injection event happens so pulling timing will just add heat.

Pulling timing is to reduce cylinder pressure from the nitrious. If you have a motor than can handle it then by all means spray away, but pressure goes up fast when that blue bottle is on. I'm far from an expert but I have played with it a bit LOL on a fresh build I would take it easy and tune the setup, make it do you only have a slight haze while spraying. Just going with one big shot can have spectacular and destructive consequences, and this isn't even discussing over spooling the turbos LOL

How can you make more power without adding cylinder pressure? One goes with the other. Do you think changing from 30 lbs. of boost to 60 lbs. of boost doesn't add pressure? Would you take timing out if you run more boost?

I guess I worded it wrong, I understand that the extra pressure is hp. Like I said I'm no expert I have just tinkered with it some. When you compete you risk breaking just the nature of our sport so if you are going to spray the lower the timing will still allow more hp with the juice but less of a chance of breaking. Don't even know if I'm making sense right now. Dang cold meds
