Truckers, lets see your rigs!

If I remember correctly the PDI stage 1 tune is around 725hp at the crank, jfaulkner would know for sure as he has a tuned acert. I think they are very reliable at that power level.

I'm not sure how diesel Specs programs are rated.

Acerts love the PDI tunes. The stock chargers easily support 800+ HP and you can keep your foot buried in it all day and the pyro never climbs above 900* on a 100*+ day. The guys I know with PP boxes can't run them above level 3 without them getting hot and the PDI tune adds the same 200hp as the PP box does turned all the way up. I don't know anyone personally with a Diesel Spec tune but I haven't heard anything bad about them. FYI a PDI 475 Stage 1 tune (supposed to be for fuel mileage) was 680hp at the wheels on a dyno. The 550 stage 1 was around 700hp.

I like this guy. Learning a lot

Does this help any with fuel on a ACCERT?

If your talking about a BXS/MSX C15 then yes and no. All depends on which tune you choose and what your current mileage is. A guy here with an '06 379 with an MXS was getting 6-6.5 before the tune pulling a propane tank. After the tune his mileage didn't change but the power gain was great. But he drove conservatively anyway. He went with the 475 stage 1 which is geared more for fuel mileage. Some guys have easily gained .5 but I don't know anyone who had one done and lost fuel because of it. The biggest gains I think are the guys with the 625hp C15's. They were known to be pretty bad on fuel stock.

A little background, PDI takes the stock Cat flash files and cracks them open and mods the timing and fuel curves. What file they started with determines what the file is sold as. The 475hp Stage 1 is exactly that, the stock 475 file modded. The 550hp Stage 1 file is about 30hp more than the 475 file. They have a 625hp Stage 1 but I was told it doesn't run as well as the 550 file so that's what I went with.

I wasn't concerned with fuel, I wanted power. I've got 2 6NZ's tuned with the 550 Stage 1 files as well. If you've never driven one tuned you should, it's like a totally different animal. I debated it for over a year before finally pulling the trigger. My only experience with modded semi's before these was friends with bigger injectors and 600hp factory files or mechanical motors with cranked pumps. Unlike those, the PDI files and the BullyDog with big tunes are totally idiot proof. I have a friend with an Acert with a custom set of twins, 40 pin ecm with stock 600hp file and huge injectors which put down over 1000hp at Antrims and he works it every day.....a total nightmare to drive. Can't lug it below 1500 without burning a piston and requires constant gauge babysitting, these are NOTHING like that. On a 3 mile grade here I gained 20mph over stock grossing 120,000.:rockwoot:

If anyone is serious about getting one done I strongly suggest NOT calling PDI directly. The guys on the phone are salesman, not gearheads and a few of their dealers know more about their stuff than these guys do.

Thanks J, I sold the BXS I had because of fuel millage. I could only get 5.2-5.5 with that Pete. So that answers my question, we only pull flats in the midwest so fuel millage is more important than power in this case.

They won't say exactly but I've heard that the Acert tunes advance the timing around 8*(back to where it should be, thank you EPA). Can't get too carried away with 18:1 compression.:ft:

Been hauling these all week turning circles from Foreman,AR to Richmond,TX.

Love the radius fenders! Might have to invest in some of those.
I love the look, but hate how many times a day I stop to raise the trailer on railroad tracks or small hills to keep the neck off of the rear set!LOL

She's all mine now haha
