Drag truck/Street toy build

I'd say that weight is pretty low when you figure all the piping, coolers, turbos, cage, big tires/wheels, tailgate, etc. This truck is an amazing accomplishment. There aren't many out there in the same category.

Thanks man. We're a dealer for them and I've bought a lot of stuff over the years. That being said I always try to keep one of our big spec cans on hand because they only build breather cans every so often. And that can is specifically made for us so it's only made when we order them. I just ordered a few more the other day and build time is 4-6 weeks though.

The simple -12, 2 port cans are a lot more readily available. I might have one of those. If not I can usually have one within a week.

Guess you need to be a dealer to get a order in then. I'm just wanting a can with two stacked -12 male fittings. They were supposed to be making a run back in December but I got left out of it somehow. If you can get me one that's be awesome.

Thanks man. Hopefully I can shed some weight and actually be competitive but we'll see.

I can definitely help get you set up. PM me your number and I'll help you out.

Looks good buddy!

Thanks JD. You gonna be at the track at all this weekend?

I took the truck out on a cruise yesterday. Took some pictures and logged a few pulls. I was very pleased with how well the truck drove. Cruising down the highway at 65 mph the boost just sits at 2-3 psi, very fast spool up, and easy to drive without smoke.

After I got on it a few times the power feels good too. Too hard to compare with the Borg chargers since I can't stay in it very long. It spools quite a bit better with the Garretts though.

Looking at some of the data I got I saw ~1:1 drive pressure to overall boost all the way to ~85 psi where I let off. But I'm only making 9 psi from the primary :hehe: Looking at some of the Gopro videos you can see the primary gate opening as soon as the power comes in. I'll get some different springs in it, do some more logs and see how it does.

Here's some of the pictures I got. I drive about 15-20 miles on the cheater slicks then came back and put the street tires on it. In total I put about 100 miles on it.

Yea, there are a couple on Instagram my girlfriend took for me. How can I get them on here. Just put it on YouTube and copy the link?

Put 100 miles on the truck last weekend then ran a 9.84 on the same setup besides tires and mirror deletes yesterday. The heavy old mechanical truck is doing pretty good! Now I just need to decide if I'm gonna drop 500 lbs and try to be competitive in Superstreet or leave it and try again for Diesel Power Challenge next year.

Also the boiling paint got to me so I extended the stack up and made a blast plate.

Congrats again John your truck ran great! It was nice to meet you and the Grandby guys yesterday.

Thats the first time we have been to Bandimere. The truck is usually in South Dakota, but it my wife has a GTX4294R on her Jeep that needs some track time. I need to look into a good time to hit the track again.

Dustins having a new converter shipped out asap so hopefully we can get the truck out again soon.

Sounds good man. Let me know when you guys are gonna be there. I'll come by.

Very nice looking!

Thanks Brad.

I've been playing with the Racepak and I'm pretty happy with the numbers aside from EGT's. I sent my pump/Injectors off to Kevin and it definitely fuels harder. He raised the pop to 4500 psi. I ran a 9.87 at 141 this weekend. I backed the timing off to 24* so I could spray it a little.

The overall boost spiked to 98psi when I let off but the rest of the run it flattened out at 95.5psi , the most the primary made was 52psi but that was a spike when I let off. It peaked around 48psi, drive pressure was 110 psi with a 112 spike when I let off. Fuel psi was 66psi, now for the bad... The EGT's on fuel were 2100* and on nitrous it peaked 2300*.

I was pretty surprised with the EGT numbers. And I need to cool it off. I forgot the laptop or I wouldn't even have sprayed it. I'm thinking I either need to pull the bottle and hit it with water or fuel it a little harder to cool it off. Opinions?

Water meth made quite a difference in temperature at WOT in my old 12v. Also made a nice little gain in spool too. Not bad for cheap power

Nitrous really does make the 12v's run hot. That's cooking. Little water will keep those turbine wheels happy.
