2017 PPL Limited Pro Stock Diesel rules

I'll leave this here as well:

Taken from 2.6 rules
25. The vehicle must retain the original factory wheelbase and track width. Maximum of 1 ton truck chassis only allowed.

Taken from 3.0 rules
24. Maximum wheelbase 158” and 102” maximum track width (outside tire to outside tire

I have noticed a few of the 2.6 trucks that look to be stretched in some of the videos I've been watching. I didn't see a maximum wheelbase on the 2.6 class.

How stringent are the PPL techs when it comes to this rule? It appears the wheelbase rule could leave one brand dominant??

158" wheelbase has had been adopted for years now it's a part of history. *bdh*

But since it's a regular cab long wheel base it's been stretched is what your saying correct? what makes you think it's been stretched.? Or are you just talking about the bed being stretched?

Is the width outside tire side wall or outside tire thread????

I think the 158" rule was in the rule books as far back as '14 (maybe earlier), but it was never enforced. It was supposed to be enforced starting the 2016 season.

As far as the question of how one gets to the 158", there seems to be a lot of different ways to get there on an OEM chassis.

The width is total width

This is the stuff that makes USA east rwyb so much more inviting to build a truck for.

I am glad to here that.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge. We just sorta jumped into this pulling world and are trying to catch up as quickly as possible.

Why is that

Because the professionalism at these events are second to none. If you break at one of these events there will be a gang of fellow competitors at your trailer ready to help fix it for the next days event. I've pulled with FPP and have been cheered when I broke. I have also crew members cheer when someone else broke. You will not see that at these events

I thought we were talking about the constant rule changes not agruing your fact but with rwyb you don't have to rebuild or get a new turbo every year just to meet rules

There were only a couple rule changes for this year

Added a safety hitch. No big deal
Added two more clamps on cable around engine. Shouldn't break the bank
Cleared up a head rule

But all the major changes were made last year. As the wheel base limit, turbo and open driveline took effect

I'm not really sure what all the *****ing is about. I guess some feel I may be making these rules up and that they are not the 2017 rules. I don't really care. But the ones that are sticking to an outdated rule book can't complain when the season comes around that they didn't know what the rules are. Anyone that is really concerned about the 17 rules probably already contacted Johnathan to get them. Some just like to get their post count up on Comp D

Where is this awesome place you talk about Mike and these great guys that offer help???

Don't say nobody helped you. Cuz that would b an insult to those that did. You witnessed for yourself at Wooster how 95% of the events went. Coshocton was screwed up from the get-go. I know there was regret on the officials side on how it all went down. That event go discussed in great lengths at our meeting. The pullers all agreed that you would make a great addition to the class Dan. And be welcomed. Maybe some people would even come introduce themselves.

I, for one, thank you for the thread. Yes, I will check to make sure you are correct 'cause I don't know ya.

Thank you. I would encourage anyone to contact Johnathan. He send those to me within 4 days of me requesting them.

First impressions are everything! I think what hurts the most is going to Wooster and watching trucks that never hooked never get turbo teched! And then come to the very next hook park next to me and I get teched twice and they still
Don't get teched!?!?!? And the tech official wasn't good enough to pass me, it had to be the presidents ok! No body ever made me feel welcome and no one ever apologized. All that does is breed hate and anger.

You must be a pretty good puller.

I can't disagree with one thing you said

Other than Jeff and myself tried to make you feel welcomed

Mike, I can't agrue that, you and Jeff were only ones that did help, your brother is as true as the day is long, always asking what he can do to help or make anything easier for anyone, just a great guy for the sport. Class act. I'm not bashing you or anyone, just stating my experiences! I think every organization has there days. An all I'm saying is I've never wished for a guy to break or laughed at anyone, who the hell wants to beat a guy that way. There's good people in anything.
