ODRA/NADM Texas Diesel Roundup Oct 10

I had a good weekend and now set my best time. It was fun and got to see alot of people I don't get to see many times a year and Got to meet even more. Thanks to NADM and ODRA for putting together a nice event. Hate that there wasn't any sled pulling or any dyno. Oh well the event has room to grow and it was fun.

Thanks again.

15 seconds........ for the win. :)

On an exhibition pass it ran a 10.36 with a homemade duct taped Intercooler boot. The truck managed to split the aftermarket boot in half on a earlier run.

had fun watchin all the drags and the Hushpower truck. I was real disappointed the pullin was cancelled

The first pass, the truck started making a move towards the wall so he lifted to save it for another run.
The second pass, we went our best 60' time ever, it was moving very hard but exploded a lower intercooler boot.
In the final, against the little grey chevy truck we didn't think we had a chance because we didn't have another boot and ended up using duct tape and electrical tape on the boot. Unfortunately for the other guy, he had more trouble than we did and we won in probably the slowest Pro Street final (15.7).
Since the truck survived we came back around and immediately ran a balls out exhibition pass. To our surprise it made it down the 1/4 mile...with a badly leaking intercooler boot and ran 10.36.

Thanks to all those that helped put on the event and a BIG thanks to everyone that helped us at the track!!

And to the guy that offered us his intercooler boot off his truck and was willing to drive home without it if we blew it up...Thank You!!!! We really appreciated the offer and may take you up on it next time :).

Hello Pam! Wife baby and myself thank you and Mike for you hospitality!

Man I missed the exhibition pass where the hell was I? What was Mikes 60ft on that one? Cant believe the electrical tape held up.

he was a sled puller truck and i think he just ended up racing et class for fun, but i think he does more than sled pull with that truck bc he was cuttin great lights and running his number every pass

You're welcome, any time!
He ran the exhibition immediately after the final round, didn't even let the truck cool down.
60' was 1.493, the video shows it smoking alot so the electrical tape barely held it together for the run.

I liked all of the trucks running in the event, but was really impressed with the GREEN truck. Just looking at the truck would have never guessed that he would run those times, and he was very consistent! He had consistent et's, and his rt's where impressive.

All in all had a great time at the event. We ran a buddies car (Cuda with a 440), and bike friday night. Went well for us, and nothing broke. Had a good time watching the other cars, and Dr Performances truck on friday night. Saw the little red express run, but had know idea he hit the wall until we returned on sat. The good times continued watching everybody run on Saturday. Looking forward to the next event....

There where a couple of idiot's speeding through the pits, but I have come to realize they are everywhere! It just sucks what effects their actions can have on the sport. I just don't get it, if they want to race they should run em on the track. If they want to do burnout's, there was an event for that too. I'm off my soap box now. Like I said, looking forward to the next event....

We need another event in Texas...soon!

Yea sucks we no longer have the DHRA it would be coming up right about now. When Is the next event besides Texas Diesel Shootout? Will not be running that one anyway.

One wild ride for sure. Kind of odd the best time the truck has ever ran was during a crash. 10:38 at 127 launching with about 8 pounds of boost.

Did that run happen to be in the right lane? The timer wasn't sorking correctly in that lane Saturday and they didn't figure it out for a while. I thought I had made my quickest fuel only passes to date too.

Yea dannys stroke is pretty cool! Can't wait til he gets the bugs worked out and a tranny that doesn't smoke!

Turns out that smoke wasn't coming from the trans, it was from my ccv.:banghead: Bting the bullet now and doing a full build. At least I know why it was gradually slowing down more and more now. LOL

I had an awesome time at the event as usual, even with all the small bugs they ran into. It's always a blast hanging out with all my diesel buddies no matter what happens at the track. :D

I'd like to see another event there. The facility was really nice and it's pretty centrally located for a lot of people.

THANK YOU TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!
We backed the monster truck off the trailer and blew a tranny line.Spent a few hours fixing that and made a mess.I would not have run at all if it was not for JOHN ROBBINSON!!!THANK YOU JOHN!!Before I ran I left my fans off to build a little heat and forgot to turn them back on so I overheated---oh well sorry guys.Thank you guys/girls for taking the time to wach me.
Thank you N.A.D.M.-----great event

Dave

I had a good time. Pretty laid back event with no real drama to speak of.

It was nice hanging out with everyone. It really does seem to me the brand wars are going away. Hell, I think I hung out more with the Cummins guys than I did Ford peeps. (John R, Roskoe, Billy, school bus etc....)

I'm already looking forward to next year. For a first year event, I think the turnout was respectable.
