Yesterday we managed to up the record again with a 189.5 qualifier then we backed it up with a 190.7 to give a new record of 190.1 mph,to say we are very happy with the results is an understatement, insert sh#t eatin grin here!!
We are just getting on the road this morning in Wendover, so I'll post up a full rundown of the meet this evening.
Cheers
Tim

Good job man! Two bills is just around the corner! Hope you didn't have to drive the truck back this time LOL

I got to see you make 1 run on Saturday from the 3 mile mark, looked like the run was cut short a little? But it really made me want to try it.

Depending on what track he was running on its only 3 miles long, and track one is 5 miles long. Unless he was running on track one?

looked like it was on the long course, couldn't get real close to the short one. i believe the short one was also for <150mph? could be wrong.

Alright here goes, I think it will be easier to list the runs with the speeds and results .
All runs except for the rookie driver run were performed on the LSR track which is a combo 3 and 5 mile track. We are qualified to run the full 5 miles but are only running to the 3 for now.
1st mile speed is the the average speed between the 1 mile marker and the 2 mile marker.
Quarter mile speed is a speed trap at the 2 1/4 mile mark.
2nd mile speed is the average speed between the 2 mile marker and the 3 mile marker

Run 1 Saturday September 6th,
1st mile 164.058
2 1/4 mile 180.246
2nd mile 175.698
Pretty much a shakedown run to see how the setup behaves on a three mile pull. Everything seemed good until the 2 1/4 mile mark when the truck lost power, turned out the turbo to intercooler pipe boot had ripped 2.5 inches.
We made some calls and headed to Salt Lake City to find a new boot. Big thanks goes to Sterling with Industrial Injection who came through with a new boot for us and a spare too, he handed them over at about 10.30 pm that night. We thrashed back to Wendover, getting to bed about 12.30 am.

Run 2 Sunday September 7th
1st mile 165.982
2 1/4 mile 182.088
2nd mile 187.282
After getting on the salt early and thrashing to get the new turbo to intercooler pipe boot back on, with slow lines we finally managed to make a full run. Pedalling it through the whole 2nd mile due to high EGT's
Going faster than the previous record by 10 mph ,we went to record impound.

Run 3 Monday September 8th
1st mile 168.826
2 1/4 mile 183.958
2nd mile 188.554
This run was our record 'return' run ,it bagged us a record over last years record.
We were still pedalling it due to high EGT's

Run 4 Monday September 8th
1st mile 137.919
2 1/4 mile 153.035
2nd mile 153.935
This was a licensing pass for one of the crew members, in order to obtain a 'C' license the driver must go faster than 150 but no more than 175,he played it safe!!

Run 5 Monday September 8th
1st mile 164.486
2 1/4 mile 178.34
2nd mile 182.596
3rd mile 158.255 ( coasted through this mile in neutral due to no chute deployment)
This was a test run to try out a 66% fuel tune called the 'Sissy' tune by Ryan Milliken . This gave us a baseline for balance between power and EGT's that maxed out at 1300 with pedal mashed to the floor.
Chute didn't deploy due to the chute pack getting crusty with salt .

Run 6 Tuesday September 9th
1st mile 167.377
2 1/4 mile 184.678
2nd mile 189.544
After trying the 66% fuel tune ,Ryan put together a new tune for us called the 'Teenager' which is about 80 % fuel, this allowed us to put the pedal down and keep it there all the way through the 2nd timed mile with EGT's maxing out at 1600 deg.
This run re-qualified us for the previous record we set earlier in the event.

Run 7 Tuesday September 9th.
1st mile 172.121
2 1/4 mile no speed given for some reason??
2nd mile 190.736
This was the record return run, it netted us a new record of 190.140 mph .

The event was a great test and tune for the truck, setting 2 records along the way, more intercooling is needed with a water to air going on the truck before the next meet. along with more water injection.( methanol not legal)
The truck handles great fly's straight, even when spinning the tires!

Big thanks to Ryan Milliken and Hardway Performance, for looking after the EFI live tuning.

Here's a couple of pictures.

Cool rundown of the passes! I was wondering if EGT or traction, or HP would be the main issue. I still say put compounds on it, but it's hard to argue with the results. Once you get enough water in it, you should be able to put EGTs wherever you want. Congrats again! Hope to see ya in a few weeks!

It was great meeting you on the salt, Tim. That big truck is certainly impressive.

Congratulations on the new record(s).

Steve.
