Finally found the problem with white out, bad dsp5 switch got one pass in this morning
10.89 @128.87. DA close to 9000. Truck pulled hard
Lots more fuel available but very happy at this elevation
It made the quickest pass at the event other than Dirtymax
What has Trent run?
Was told Trent did not get his problems sorted. They did not know his best time but thought it was in the 11's.
Any one get any video's ? i really want to see my pass of blowing all 4 of the tires off ,I launched a bit too hard but it would really help to see what the suspension was doing ...................
I had a good look at that pass, tires didn't blow off, but just hopped/chattered real hard.
Shawn, Max'd out is in Pro street trim. I installed two different converters for testing this week and really didn't like either, so I strapped a bottle on with a .028 jet to help spool if needed. I knew the D/A was going to be very high and didn't want to be stuck with a poor converter and no way to spool..
thanks Rob , it def wasnt "smooth" thats for sure , all i knew is i hit my rev limmiter(4700) and had to let out of it just to get it to shift , log isnt worth much either , video is usually worth a thousand words , better make sure i bring the wife next time . NOS would have been a big help up there for spooling.
I had a great time at this event even with the rain. Wish we could have stayed for Sunday but had to get home.
Brad and the rest of the G&J guys it was good talking to you guys again. Hope I helped more than hurt getting the slick back together. That is one sweet looking Duramax your buddy is building. Can't wait to see it in person. I will see if I can get in touch with that guy we were talking about for showing off the truck.
Michael- hope you made it home in plenty of time to get your sweetie back to work today. Always a pleasure talking to ya. I will try and get in touch with ya next week when we are up in the pacific northwest and buy ya a beer.
Trent nice to meet you as well. Hope to see the truck at Truckfest in a few weeks.
Great event and turnout for the NHRDA.
Place dries out in a hurry, sled pullers on Sunday were tossing up a lot of dust.
I agree - there were a ton of diesel trucks in the parking lot, compared to the number in the lanes!!! If I can drive my truck 1200+ miles hauling a camper, then race it and drive it 1200+ home, then the locals should be able to do it! We see the same thing at every event though. LOL, maybe we should offer towing insurance or something Or a gift certificate to a local diesel repair shop, which gets awarded to the person who has the most carnage? Kinda like a free set of tires as a burnout contest prize! Finally made it home, it was a good time, would have been great if we could have raced Max'd Out, but was nice to finally get a little performance out of White Out, too bad it was after the race was over. Track owner said it was the largest crowd they had ever had at the track. Lots of cowboys hanging on the rail watching. entire track was lined with diesel trucks. Too bad we couldn't get them to race. As one cowboy said, we have to work out trucks all week, can't afford to break them. Not sure how we get around that? Anyway it turned out well, even with the wash out Sat nite. Place dries out in a hurry, sled pullers on Sunday were tossing up a lot of dust.
I tried to get most of those trucks to run but couldn't convince any of em. Got my top turbo off tonight. Looks like it melted the exhaust wheel pretty bad on my first run.
Not sure yet. That was my first time running that setup with 5x18 injectors and two stages of nitrous a .78 jet and a .110 jet. Wish I would of looked at my egt gauge not sure how high they got.
Shameless plug: You need an ISSPRO Performax system so you can use the peak recall (or better yet the full datalogging) feature! OTOH, I rarely look at my peak EGTs any more on a dragstrip run. I know they hit at least 1600° F, but it's only for a few seconds. I will probably throw a 2000° pyro on one of these days just to see what it gets to.
Sorry to hear about the carnage. It was great chatting with you and your parents.
Regards,
Michael Pliska
