Great event for NHRDA. It worked very smooth, no down time at all. Very good truck and spectator turn out. The 11.90 class was awesome. Super street had 8 trucks I believe, seems the 11.90 class is a very good fill in for mid level trucks.
Congrats to Verlon (VSouth) winning sportsman and Super diesel. He pulled his trailer from Idaho with his race entry, then hot lapped running an unbelievable amout of rounds, changing from a sportsman tree to a pro tree every pass. Awesome racer.
Max'd out was turned down to help break in the new engine. I had converter issues right from the start, so I just babied it to make round wins. Made i into the finals of SS and PS, but knew it would not last as the converter was trying to lock on the line. I had to stage by putting the truck in neutral and bumping it in and then back to neutral waiting for the green. Besides the converter, everything felt/looked good and should be back in form for the Texas race next month.
Congrats to the whole NHRDA crew, very smooth and professinal. They have bought on Big Don and JJ (NHRA) that really bring a new level to the diesel side of drag racing with there vast knowledge and experience.
