84 Chevy Crew Cab 12v Conversion

Well started making the mounts, my first plan was not going to work so I have started a new idea. So far so good.

There will be a lot of gussets added so it will be strong. Hoping to get these finished and then make a removable cross member soon.

Lookin good Matman, This is a pic of the mount style I made for my Ranger. This might help you or somebody.

Loving the military surplus 37's......how hard was it to find those 16.5 dually wheels? LOL

Thanks man, it does really nice like that :) and the tires usually only run $90 ea. The 16.5 is not laying everywhere, but seems like if you can find a wrecking yard with older rigs it doesn't seem to be impossible. Check on CL and any of your local tire shops. They were on a lot of the older dodges, and a lot of the Chevy box vans had them.

Cornbread you got any pictures of it hooked to your gooseneck?

I don't have a recent one, but this is one before I put the 37"s on :)ImageUploadedByTapatalk1357477555.823600.jpg
No issues at all, not even now with the 37"s
I don't have that trailer anymore, but I'm building on another one and it will be a 24' living quarter in front with a 16' flat on the back fit my one of my jeeps.

That right there has sold me on the 8" lift kit. I found a used lift kit and also found 6 16.5 dually wheels. Now to come up with some cash.

Next I will be picking up a 8" lift kit and some 16.5 dually wheels!

Got the cab off tonight so I can start work on the fuel and brake lines and then paint the frame.

Got the transmission cross member all finished up and stuck the drive train in for mock up so I can finish some stuff on the frame.
