BREAKING $HIT
I started sanding this evening & I'm about ready to get the masking on. Tomorrow is another day, hoping to spray it in the next day or so...depending on what time I get out of work.
Here is a picture of my bed before I got started. [after removing the drop in liner]

I'm sanding with a D.A. sander using 36 grit & hand sanding the tight areas.

I just need to sand the tailgate real fast & mask it off, then I'll be shooting Al's.:rockwoot:

Watching your progress

I'm rootin' for you man. Looks like a well used bed! Al's is going to make it look new again. All the best! :clap:AP

Sweet! Your doing the bed and rockers correct? You going for the 1/8" thickness?
Yep. I'm doing the bed first to see how the texture looks before I do the rockers. I am thinking of spraying the Als up to the very first body line [4" up from bottom of door] instead of all of the way up like originally planned.

Thanks Arnie! I hope 2 gallons is enough for this bed. I need that 3rd gallon for rockers inside/out

Well guys, It started storming here today & we got winds 70mph. The power started flashing on/off & I decided to wait to spray. I did finish sanding & masking though, just gotta wipe & spray now.

I am impressed!!!! I am really happy with the way it turned out. I spoke with Al's liner today & they told me to spray it at the highest psi my compressor could keep up with. I sprayed my bed at 125psi & held the gun 3ft away. It has a great texture & very nice color match [atleast under the garage lights LOl]. The pictures are loading now, but here is a teaser.

I cleaned the bed with wax & grease remover, then laquer thinner. Then I sprayed etching primer on the bare metal before applying the Al's primer. I color matched the liner using 1 cup of automotive pigment to 1 gallon of Al's. I coated the gun with vasoline & started spraying. I am very happy with the texture & finish!!

That looks great Jamie, I like it a lot. When I do the body work for my truck, I hope you'll be ready for some questions..
