first run today, first drag race with the truck after all the bad luck from the start.. ran a pathetic 14.2 at 103.xx(7800lb's) with a 2.62 60 foot time. anything over 3psi would start spinning on the line. anyway saw a max of 1626 egt and 77 psi boost.. and when i got back in line water was running down the side of the block.. looks exactly like a 53 block leak.. dammit how gay is that.. motor #3 in 12 months since it got this truck.. tranny #4.. dammit "always somethin" doesnt need to live up to its name like this..

oh i am, i have no choice right now. block seeler stopped it for now. friggen thing is only making 600hp and now on the second rebuild only had 3k on it... i just cant believe it cracked a block with this low hp.. my luck.. anyone know how to break a curse on a truck or on bad luck????

its got a spool in the front. first it barely steers on dirt so pavement would have really been a pain but i could lock it before the line but if you ever driven a remote truck with a locked front it gets scetch if you have to turn under power going fast.. i just acctually wanted to make some passed to see what it could do in 2wd.. obviously enough to break a block..

Weld the bi@tch and go like hell, whats the worst thats gonna happen now?

i have that option even know it prolly wont work but i also have another block ill prolly end up using.. just sucks bro.. this thing shouldnt have broke with only 600hp.. anyway it did its just going to be more work to keep it going forward.

lol im leavin the cap off until i fix the block either by a replacement or if welding on it works.. i doubt it will im sure ill have to replace the block.. its just fuggin lame. ive owned this truck for a year this week and only been able to drive it for 2 weeks before its broken somehow at any given time. i have only put 4k on it in a year not because i havent wanted to drive it, but because 1st rebuild lasted 480 miles, second cam got eaten from contaminnents in 200 miles, 300 miles after that motor got rebuilt completely the trans killed itself, 1500 miles later the tc cracked, 300 miles later it cracked again. last weekend broke a hub but still drove and fixed that this am. tonight broke the block.. ie that name fits oh only to well.. "always something".. im thinking i should change the name to "perseverance"... i just dont know how long i can keep throwing money at this dam truck to be kicked in the nuts every week or so..

oh another funny bs about the previous owner lies,, i bought the 35 spline hubs like i was told it had and well no. they are 30's so it was a good thing that napa auto ordered 30's for me just in case..

Can the block be saved if you filled it with hard block? Probably not an option if you drive it every day.

i doubt it would be any good as a dd with a filled block. not to mention it would have to be at least honed to make it "true" after being filled.. im not real sure that is a good way to go for it.. maybe on the next light duty type dd and drag truck build if i ever get this truck to be half way reliable at its low hp deal i can use this block for that. im not sure if you use the oil cooler it would work for light duty dd..

I feel your pain man. Only got to make one trip to the track this year due to my block cracking. Didnt even leak enough at the track for me to notice it, but 2 days later on the dyno i sure found out! Been driving it everyday since and its finally getting to the point where i really need to replace it SOON. 221k miles on it when it cracked. Right around 600hp as well

77psi and 600 HP don't seem right, or am I ignorant?

Are you calculating HP with trap speed?

the engine has been under powered since day one... for some unknown reason. that truck hooks like an animal though!
