Flint Hills Truck Pullers Association

We be there. I've actually been through there several times. My future in-laws are from right west of Hutchinson. I was there all summer. I talked to Kellys husband? on the phone earlier today about the pulls and about what a first-timer could get away with. If all goes well I may end up trying to pull in both divisions if I can get my crap situated. He said they are going to be split up into two different sessions. 1 pm and 6 or 7 pm I think. That would give me time to get an s400 on that I'm trying to get rebuilt. If we go we can definitely have some beers with ya. Drive home won't be too bad for us.

Think a mildly fueled 12v with a little he351 can compete? open diff. :bang

I'm rushing to try and get my truck able to run the 2.6 class, but I've ran into a problem. Can someone explain to me the simplest way to get an air shut off mounted to an s400? Like exactly what parts I'm going to need. After that I'll pretty much have everything in place that I will need safety wise.

What size S400 cover are you running? Standard or race? What about the p.a.s?Most of the p.a.s's I'm finding just slip fit & utilize a silicone/rubber boot. Sure seems simplest way to me. Don't know about how well that will deal with the weight, although I have no real world experience with them. Most of the industrial p.a.s's are either v-band or bolt on jobbers. As for whether your truck will compete or not it's hard saying. But I bet you're gonna have a ball & just showing up/hookin' is a big part of it. Swear every year I'm gonna have one of my buckets-o-bolts ready to hook the next.

I was going to try and rig up either a rain cap flapper or blast gate off eBay. Cover is standard 75 cover with 2.6 bushing.

In the past just to get by I've just used a rain cap, just held open with a small cotter key and a cable attached to it ran to the rear of the truck. Not pretty but better than nothing I guess.

This worked great for me this season!

I would also use a tie wrap or something in the system. If for some reason your hitch breaks, you don't want an 1/4" cable getting caught on something on the way out.

That's what I saw somebody use on another thread. A couple zip ties near the ring on the back?

I Leah and I went to this event last year, it was a good time and we are planning on making it again this year. Hope to see you there.

It will be good to see some other compd guys there. I'm doing my best to get my truck available to pass tech. I know I won't be able to compete neccesarily, I will only be running a 2.5 wheel in a 75 cover with 2.6 bushing... :hehe:

4x4dually is planning on going with me too. He may have to tow me home. LOL

It is just a 5in ebay one that I put springs on. And I didn't use a zip tie on the back for holding the ring on. Just used a pto cable, stuck it through and welded a ring on the other end. Worst case scenario is I have to feed the cable back through. Here's a couple more pictures. The zip tie you see is because our organization and outlaws both want it zip tied in to keep it from accidently closing.

I think you better hold off on the weights there, hillbilly, until you get some driveline upgrades. If you get too much traction...I WILL be towing you home. LOL

Working on a new song to play at your wedding...for your wifey. LOL

Gotta compete some how lol seeing I'll be way underpowered it looks like.. nice song haha

You guys that are planning on coming to this event Saturday, how strict are the 2.6 rules on things such as fire suits? That seems to be the one thing I can't get a hold of. Think I could rent one off one of you for the pull?

Do you have a backup 'get my truck home plan' if I can't make it?

It will probably go to Kansas instead of Stillwater if you don't make it. LOL
