The recievers were 10 or 15 bucks from Rural King, the steel I got from a friend that has a welding shop and we never discussed a price so it was free. Some of you Missouri guys have seen it at Bloomsdale and liked it. Just remember to have the recievers bolted in and extensions in them before you weld on front plate so that it slides in and out easily. No I did not have to cut the bumper cover and you have even more room if you don't have a sport bumper cover. The bolt holes are behind you plastic cover I would guess. You can also make anything to fit in the recievers when not using rack. They are also strong enough to have your truck stuck and be yanked sideways with one of them to I know from experience.

How much weight have you had up there? there was another guy from down in my parts had 750lbs on it and they striped the bolt holes right out.
 
Its would be hard to strip the bolts out of the holes since there are nuts on the back of them. I think close to 800lbs. Its is enough to make the rear end ofthe truck feel pretty light.
 
I duno i put 1200lbs on the front of mine with no problem. I duno I would be alittel afraid of one big bounce and your weight scatters on the ground

I feel comfartable with it and if I need more wieght I throw it in the floorboards or in front of bed.
 
Heres one that my brother and I fabbed up for his truck. Think it will hold enough weights???

I hope this is strong enough to hold all 900lbs if i get to use it all for some of the heavier pulls.

Looks like your welds are getting better. But only 900 pounds? What you got in that thing a block of concrete?

LOL...you are gonna laugh...but yes

the truck was 7100 with my big rear end (360lbs) 1/4 tank of fuel, and 300lbs of concrete in the bed at the last pull.

i figure if i can keep the truck below half a tank, ditch the concrete in the bed, and add that 100+lbs bracket and the 900lbs up front i should be justt at or over 8000, but with a full tank, i wont be able to hang them all

and as for the welds...its helps when you have a professional fabricator/welder teaching you as you go, and a very nice/expensive miller welding machine...man that thing is sweet, so smooth and clean!

heres mine. sorry no pics with weights installed. i just use jittle 60lb skid loader weights. I can only hang 400lbs with the tailgate and spare tire reoved and 1/4 tank of fuel. I use a crew cab truck.

The weights have to slide on from the end, they cant just be lifted off, so the strap basically stops them from being able to vibrate or bounce or move at all. I like the way it turned out.

when I am feeling bored and have a razor blade in my hand they will be scraped off...until then...i've learned to ignore them HAHA
 
Can yall post some pics of your brackets before they were attached to your trucks so i can get some ideas for building mine?
