Let's talk dual exhaust.

dual stacks place a lot more diesel particulate directly into the lungs of driver and passengers entering and exiting the running truck imho

I couldn't care less. This truck will stay as "clean" as possible. I'd rather have non-black power than a soot belcher. That isn't what I'm after.

Dual hood stacks ftw.

:hehe: I'd run a hood stack in a minute if DOT would allow it. :Cheer:

Truth be told....it will probably end up with a single mitre made of carbon fiber. I've just always wondered about why folks split into dual 5 inchers and wondered what it would do to the sound.

When i bought my 98 it had dual 5" stacks, most annoying thing ever. You cant hear yourself think and it shook everything.
Pulled them out and put a strait 5" with a 45* and a turn down.

Not refering to a soot belcher and "clean" appearing is better. The fact is: it still a known health risk factor, like smoking. Especially for young growing lungs, re asthma, emphysema, cancer, and heart disease. The style of exhaust you currently run significantly reduces the exsposure. Stacks puts it right in your face. carry on

See the way I think, I'd rather shoot it up in the air so it can keep going up (hot air rises) than dump it on the ground so when I am hookin' up trailers (just so I can run my tow mirrors out) it doesn't get me in the legs and get all up in between the truck and gooseneck. Just my way of thinkin'. No one in my family is remotely tall enough to get anything in the face from a stack. LOL

Stay with the electrical calculations man. LOL

Me and math don't mix. LOL

That's racist!!!!! LOL

Is "grey-soot" more PC?

You need to make me a 3d rendering of my entertainment center idea I've been dreaming up....

3.5" minimum imho for duals.

I like singles because you have more cross-sectional area per unit of perimeter (i.e. at a constant area between the two options, the single exhaust would have fewer flow losses relative to the duals)

Can do. Number 5 just needs input.

For realz? sweet. I may just do a visio first to get all the hard work outa the way so I can envision what and where components will be placed. But I'd love to get some 3d pics.

They key part being how the "front cover" will work and how the base of it will work. Yes, front cover to the entertainment center. I think. :)

If you have something in mind and some dimensions and what-not, I can throw it up in Solidworks for ya. Lots of folks do nice things for me so I'm happy to oblige. ;) I can also work out details on how to mount junk. If it is one thing I hate, it is cutting the first board and not having a clue what every step is going to be.

A while back a friend and I were looking into placing a piece of 2 X 4 inch tubing under the box, across the frame rails. You could use that for the cross over. Not really sure if there is room on the 4th gens. #rd gens would work but there were some challenges in the process. I don't remeber exactly what they were at the moment. It could have been just lifting the bed and I am lazy.

I'm not even sure this will be made out of wood. I'll contact ya when I got some time to work up some details, measurements and pictures of the area.

If this fargon short bed was longer than 6 foot nuthin'..... :(

I could put my aux diesel tank in there and just run a single like before....but I'd lose the tool box. I don't like the combo box, either side ain't big enough for crap. I had to jack the tool box up to even get it to fit between the front of the box and the fender wells. Why did Crystler let the japs design the bed just long enough for 10 pounds of rice? This is dayum rediculous.

How far ahead of the axle centerline is your hitch? Looks to be quite a bit in the picture.

Too dayum much. It was already in there when I bought the truck. It is probably about 6 inches. I'd have put it at about 2. A mega cab 4x4 diesel don't need anymore freggin' forward weight. It puts the stock trailer way too close to the rear window. Dumb. Probably installed at Dodge by a rookie tech. Stock trailer will get one of these when I can drop the cash.
