New numbers

Rumor is true. It was running good on the street so we took it to the track. Made a couple passes to get the trans shifting right and it was running good. It trapped 136mph with one shift still defueling. Changed the trans tune and next pass it let go. Looks like it was making over 1300 since the weight is a little over 7k.
Has anyone heard of monotherms or carillos letting go? It looks like it was one of those two things that caused it.

Low possibility on the monotherm, there's been some Carillo issues before, seems to me they upgraded there rods of late.

Damn that sux balls.
Nobody likes to hear awesome dyno numbers and then an engine failure shortly afterwards.

Sorry to hear this.

Not too bad, only missing one complete cylinder

Looks like it was probably a rod that let go

My friend tuned it. His truck has almost identical setup and runs good, my tune was basically a copy of his.

aw man... so much win with the new numbers, so much pain too soon.

What happened to max?

We broke the cam during a test pass, had some piston to valve contact broke two rockers bent some pushrods and haven't pulled yo head off yet to see internal damage. This was after his rack stuck the weekend before.

Damn, sorry to hear that man. Hope it gets back on its feet soon

High compression, lots of pressure and to much advance don't jive very well. Hate to hear this David.

That sucks, I feel for you, been there have the r&r and monotherm on the wall of shame. After our failure we went to a cunninham rod as they were one of the few that offered a 1/2" rod bolt.

The good news is at least you know it was working, 136mph on fuel is running strong.

Here is the dyno video
