I think Ross and Arias don't have steel ring landings and therefore on a daily driver can gouge the aluminum and cause the rings to stick and hence, blowby.
Personally, $1500 is not expendible. Is it just the fact that they don't have steel ring lands in them or what that makes them non streetable? I know they also shrink and expand a little more than a cast piston so until the motor heats up you will get more blow by but once they heat up they should seal fine.
