Project "Mini el Camino"

Yes, I had considered an M-TDI, but they are VERY noisy and never seem to really run right (or at least those I've seen seem poor). It's all about the torque anyway, and 255 is more than a VR6 gas engine, so it is an absolute blast to drive. It will take a new GTI and a V6 Ford Ranger and I've never found a Honda yet that was any trouble. They seem to be all confused when it lets out this whistle, and a cloud of soot, and just motors on by.:evil
As for the paint, that's new this year. It's called Electric Blure Pearl and, unlike the old silver, really stands out. I love my little "Rattle & Haul".

Little differences as usual euro vs us. Bumpers and headlights.

It looks nice..

One of my favorite shirts...LOL

I'm thinking a Snow kit, but am open to suggestions. It's just really a desire right now. No decisions have been made.

Im hoping to build up an mtdi over winter break and spring. My wiring harness is a mess and being a 12v guy I just want to do away with all the electrical none sense. I plan to put it in a quattro audi a4. But before I even get the car I want to have the engine running in my garage. Worst case scenario I contact Giles and get an outstanding pump, but I am really trying to get something to work on my own (on a budget) plus I would rather run an inline pump than a rotary. This ride is pretty sweet though, I love how clean it is. :rockwoot:

Mmmm, a local here has an MTDi. I've never seen one that runs right. His keeps blowing up and the engine, when it runs, sounds terrible. The injector noise is deafening.

I've got an Isuzu pup that's got the diesel, its even a 4x4, but it has the lame 4-speed, its getting turbo'd in the spring haha

I would point you toward Devil's Own because I have their kit and have known the first and current owner for a long time. Unless you want to use more than on input to control the flow, then DO will do what you want, for cheaper than the competitors. Only way to beat the price is to get an Aquastealth that hasn't changed in years, and uses the older shurflo pump that switches on and off.

Aquastealth $200

Devil's Own $240

Coolingmist $250

Snow $320

AIS $280

AEM $356

Progressive systems will cost more, and you will need to decide how you want to hook them up, what input(s) you want to use, etc.

If you want to look for a used kit, then you get anything you want, usually most will be around $200-up

We never got any Isuzu products here in Canada. Wghat does it have for an engine?

Many thanks my man. You've given me lots to consider on these cool winter evenings.

I'm fairly certain they are a 1.9 litre.....the Isuzu pup, Chevy luv, and the chevette diesel all had the same diesel engine

Would this be the same diesel that they used for a while in the S-10? We also got a 4.3 V6 Diesel in the Celebrity, though we never got the LUV.

Not true, chevettes and pups have two very different engines, but both are isuzu.

Suprisingly the chevette diesel is the beefier of the two (the lower end anyway). My brother put a chevette diesel in a 94 toyota 4x4. Custom Arias pistons, ported head, tuned pump, custom cam from delta, KKK turbo from a VW, custom header. He chose it over the luv diesel after comparing them side by side.

Yes, the s-10 and luv had the same engine.

On a side note, you could get a Ford ranger, ford escort, toyota pick-up, chevette, luv and pup all with a diesel in the usa at one point in the mid 80's.
