I think you will be a lot happier with the 62 than a 66. If you had a manual it might be a little better, but for spool-up and Daily Driving its going to perform much better! My turbo is a bit laggy and takes a lot of fuel to get it fully spooled even with my pump. Plus a 62 is a very good base to set up twins in a later date!

I'm running a 66 sledpuller with a ss13 and I'm not having any problems towing or daily driving, shure it has lag but once you know how to spool it right it's fine.

I have more, better, non-embarrasing pictures if you would like. Our trucks do look indentical.. Complete with OEM bugshield. Mine is a '94 5-speed, hd transfer case, DANA-80 LS, Snow Plow Prep Package, but was originally black and sabre gray.......
