13's

thanks for all the input guys. I won't even go to the track til i get positrac or limited slip. That alone SHOULD put me in the 15's. I've ran a low 16 with open diff(no traction, babying outta the hole and still spinning when i finally gave it throttle)

Do you want the cheap recipe or the expensive route? Low 13's are pretty easy once the tranny will handle it. It takes roughly 500 horsepower with either a 2wd or 4wd. The 4wd is heavier, but will leave the line alot faster, so what it loses in weight it gains by the 60 foot mark.

your BD lift pump will probably be fine
A set of Jammer 4 nozzles
Your juice will be fine
A 62/12 turbo will do it and still have great street manners
LSD rear

You will have to air down the tires and smoke them to get them good and sticky. Try to leave with under ten psi - otherwise the tires will go up in smoke when you let off the brake. I have run several 60 foots in the 1.9's with stock Michlens and low 13's in the quarter.

Use caution, as some street tires get greasier after a burnout! try avoiding the waterbox the first time through and just "squeak" the tires to get any debris off then make a run. the second time try a small burnout
and do everything else the same and see what diff it makes and tune from there.$.02 get to know your trucks powerband and quirks and adjust using the track as a dyno and keep a log of adjustments/ guage readings/ect and compare to timeslips to see what works and build on what you learn. OH, and dont forget... This stuff is FUN!!!:rockwoot:

yea smokincummins- that's pretty much what i was thinking, but reading what some guys on here say, it was beginning to make me think i might be wrong.

If you're going the cheap route, you might as well get the Jammer 5's. 4's are an inbetween step that really should have never been created.

My fastest so far is a 13.2 at 98, and that was with a easily 20 mph head wind, so it puts me in a good spot to see 12s with spray and hopefully a bigger turbo this summer:st:

Hmmm idk why my sig isn't working, but I've got a sheide vp and injectors(150s), suncoast auto, bell USB(62), fass 150, afe stage 1, 4" pipe, edge drag comp and a lock up switch all on 37s with 4.10s.

i wonder if my truck will go that fast with 4.10's, i got her up to 95 on the highway and she was just about tacked out...of course this was on the highway....not a 1/4 mile strip....nice times felk

With my old set up I ran a 13.2 with 150's, Edge J/A, smarty, II Silver 62. on 305-70-16's.
