18* timing...lost power!

I slipped timing (once) and it was 1/2 round on the crank off, luckly it was a short drive home cause it wouldn't get over 1100 RPM's.

this would explain why my truck wont go over 2k rpm and terrible white smoke.

take a look at this link should be real helpful it shows how to do it through the top of your pump. but it is the same way through that side plug just get the shut off solenoid and throttle lever out of your way and have at it
