1984 Dodge D350 Crew Cab 12v Twin Turbo

Just skimmed through the build so far...great looking setup. Have you thought of using a newer transfer case? Not sure how the 205 is going to like 800 hp in a heavy rig like that...

205 is plenty strong. Aftermarket SCS T cases are gear drive and have way more power sent through them. No need to fear the gear drive cases.

Looks good, I want to get my crew cab running again too sometime soon.

I picked the 205 because its gear drive and is much more stout than a newer chain drive case also i don't plan on really using the 4wd drive that much lol.

Heres a few pics form today Painted up the engine today and got the rocker pedestals Machined down to work with the ARP Studs. Then got everything torqued down going to get the injectors in it tomorrow and get the billet freeze plugs in it. Now to order up the billet tappet cover and timing case cover to work with the gear driven lift pump i want to run.

Wrong. 205 is a pos. You can't compare a 205 and SCS/Profab. They aren't even on the same planet. 205's break the cast housing. 600 HP gas truck break them all the time and they don't have the torque of most slightly hopped diesel street trucks.

Newb if you think the 205 is "stouter" then chain drives you have bumped your head. 205's make good scrap

I'll have to wait and see how it holds up it won't ever see any sled pulls so any time its in 4wd it will be pretty light duty. to be honest i converted it to 4wd for better handling with the larger tires the old 2wd ifs front end was all over the road with the big wheels.

Installed the Cam Retainer from Hamilton and got the 5x18 injectors in and torqued down. I am waiting on one more side freeze plug and front freeze plug, tappet cover and Bronze Cam Thrust Plate to come in. Waiting on parts is killing me! Next is get the pump, starter, oil pan and intake on then it can go back in the truck!

Love the detail and effort you're putting into the engine.

Nah man, everybody is doing that these days. Crew cab is the way to go. Not to mention the old school look is sweet!

Wow first time I heard a 205 called a pos. never heard of anyone having an issue. I've ruined a half dozen aluminum chain drive cases but never had an issue with a 205. Even ran more mud than oil.

Kinda' my thoughts, too.
Never seen an "exploded" NP205 and unless you run them out of lube, they seem to last forever.
