1984 Dodge D350 Crew Cab 12v Twin Turbo

Bitter sweet day all the parts from industrial injection showed up and look awesome butttt the compressor wheels were standard cast wheels not billet ones like i ordered so looks like the turbos will be making a trip back to industrial injection to get new wheels and rebalanced.

been very busy lately but got around to mocking up the twins. having an issue with the cold pipe between the chargers lining up. seams like the hot pipe is off and thats what throwing off the center line. i will have to call II and either get a new hot pipe or be forced to mod it. Other than that it looks awesome on the truck.

got a hold of II and sent them some pictures. Turns out They welded the outlet flange on the s480 wrong, the flange needed to be 3/4" or so back closer to the charger so its throwing off the whole cold pipe. They wont have one ready and polished till monday then they will next day me one and another weekend down with no parts! II is lacking in there QC lately!

kinda like the external wastegate kit we ordered for a buddy and it had the flange welded on for the wastegate but didn't have the hole cut for it!!

they are getting to be to big of a company and they are just pumping out product. sucks when companies get like that and there fitment goes out the window so they can mass produce stuff.

When we asked them they just told that some have the hole and some don't.

Well industrial injection lost me as a customer. the new housing was supposed to be air freighted to me next day, well they shipped it ground and took about a week to get to me, at least it fits now. So now i have started to install the rest of the kit and ran into this nice little fabrication mistake, the oil drain for the s480 hits the exhaust side of it. i have emails and phone calls into II now. its getting ridiculous now. but on a better note my helman intercooler showed up! looks awesome too.

Just got a reply from II they are next daying me a replacement bracket. they asked me what else i want. here was my response.

All I want is to have this a complete and working kit like I bought! All the mistakes on this order are small stuff that could have been avoided with better QC. This is the second twin kit I have bought from your company and I have also purchased 2 other turbos prior to that from industrial injection. I don't mean to be rude to you because I know you don't build the parts the guys in your shop do but this is the last purchase I will be making from industrial injection. I had the same poor quality from ATS diesel and will no longer buy anything from them either. And that's sad to say because you and ATS are two big names in the diesel community. Please take this as a eye opener and use it to help serve your customers with all the right stuff the first time.

cut the core support to fit the new inter cooler. i mounted it upside down from how it would normally be mounted so the piping between the intake plenum and the cooler wouldn't have to dip down so far. also it will help with clearance on the turbo side. the piping being 3 1/3" would have hit the lower radiator hose. Actually wasn't too much cutting involved. Industrial injection also next day air shipped me my new support bracket for the s480. i took a picture comparing the two drains next to each other. the new one isn't even close to the original one II screwed up ans sent me. now i have all the parts finally in. time to make inter cooler brackets, boost piping, finish up the oil drains for the turbos and the make a temporary down pipe and its time to finally hear it start!

The one on top is the correct bracket. i dont get how they can pump out parts and have them that far off from how it should be. Dont they have a jig set up or something?

Looking great. That stinks about all the trouble with II.

With the level of build that you're doing, are you going with the new LED 5x7 headlamps?

This build just gets better and better. Sucks about all the issues. It's everywhere. Seems like no one takes pride in their work or gives a damn about customer service.

They defiantly don't take pride in there work lol but i have to say they did not hesitate to replace any of the parts and they were quick to respond with answers. still does not make up for the lack of build quality.

havent seen these who sells them?

Here's where I got mine recently...they've really come down in price since they were introduced a year or two ago.

I'm pretty impressed with them. They outperform the HIDs I did have in there, and give better light than the stock lights in my '06 as well. The cutoff is great, and light output and beam pattern are very good as well. And, believe it or not, Made in the USA.

Got the intercooler brackets all welded in and decided to sit the grill on for looks and to make sure it clears the new cooler.
