2.8/bastard Puller Build thread

Chit josh... That sucks. I aint got a 6.7 but I have a extra 12 Valve short block sittn in the shop. If ya need an extra hand just holler, Im stuck waiting on parts for mine.... grrr.

Looks alot better than when my injector tip let go... were those injectors made by the same shop that did mine?
 
The cylinder looked fine. It worries me that the top of the piston is mushroomed out though.

I'm weighing my options now, may just say screw it and reassemble it.


JFlagg, that is the same set you had. I blew that nozzle off, then they went to Jeff, and then they went to you. That is my understanding.

I'm confused... when did you lose and injector tip? And how did you do this after you sent the set to Jeff, then to me? I think I have the timeline/chain of events mixed up. Your starting make me worry about the 7x12's I have from this injector maker now...:doh:

The tip came off back in may. JL sent me a replacement then I had the whole set rebalanced. I traded them to Jeff before I put them back in. I guess he ran them and then they went to you.

I'm not sure what process JL uses.

That's the set I bought used from weston's friend. Aparently its been running like this for a year.

The good knews is the spray pattern was in the bowl. And their are no marks on the pistons despite 4K+ on stock valve springs with an H2 cam.

Hmmmm.....so the set I got rid of actually had 2 tips break off in their history. I'm starting to lose faith in these things and I don't even have the next set in. I had my stock tips done(EDMed?) by JL to 7x12, I can't afford another tip busting off and taking the piston and cylinder walls with it again. :bang

Anyone interested in trading a new set of 7x12's for a compareable 6 hole injector?:poke:

I have no idea, I sent him my cores but I was dealing with him through a vendor. I had the option to go with some 6 holes, but I couldn't swing the extra $300 or so difference at the time. I was told that 7x12's were about as big as you could make them without worry, so hopefully they stay together
 
Roachie...I got a set of perfectly good 24v pistons and rings sitting in my shop.........you pay shipping and you can have them, or one!

You gonna be able to build a 6.7 by TS?
