You guys with singles, what do you run (both compressor and turbine) and where does it light?(RPM)

Do you prefer a quick lighting charger or a lazier one that that will make more hp?
 
back when i was just running an edge comp box where the power starting dying off at 2700, it had to be a fast spooling charger that would light by 1500 or so.

now that i have the redline/smarty stack and have lots more RPMs to play with, i like my silver bullet (66mm compressor) because i can cruise down the road at 2k, and when i roll into it, it will light pretty quick and is at full boost by 2500, and it pulls to 4k pretty darn well.
 
i run a sps 62/71/14 it spools well on the street with a 6-speed as long as your not in overdrive!! i would rather have a quick lighting charger from a stop, but at a rollin 30 i love it!

oh yeah, it starts lighting at 1500 to 1600, and kicks hard at 1800-1900
 
62/71/13ss. Lights around 1600-1700rpm. The only time I don't like this turbo over my 62/65/12 is when slowing to go around a corner and I'm at the bottom end of a gear. Kinda smokey. Other than that I prefer the slower spool up. The 62/65/12 spooled so fast I could barely pull away from a stop sign in the rain without the tires going up in smoke.
 
Perhaps I should add begins to light at (x) and rips to the moon at (x)

I have tried a bunch of turbos and the ATS 3000 and the Bell WSB were close to stock like spool but more boost and more CFM.Those other than stock are the only 1500 rpm or so spoolers.My factory 01 turbo would start at 1200/1300 but they have a 9 CM housings on those year with a auto but by 2400 it was done.
 
I would much rather have quick spool for what I use my truck for.

Towing is just no fun with a big charger.

I'm almost considering using the 35/40 hybrid as a top turbo in the setup, just because I don't want anything that spools slower than it.

It lights low, usually around 1600-1700rpm. With a 6-speed, it does "fine" towing.
 
62/71/14, With an Auto it seems to wake slowley. In o.d it lightes at about 1700 and burns really good after 2000 all the way up but this charger is non wastegated. max boost is around 43-44psi. and LOVES to blow the bottom cooler boot.:bang

What gears do you have in the rear? I have spoke to alot of guys running the 62/71/14 as I do & they usually have 3.55 gears. Most of them have said that they spool around 1500-1600rpm. I have 4.10 gears & I light my 62/71/14 at 1300-1400rpm. I usuall see 10psi by 1600rpm.
 
I have 3.55's............ I suspect that this is part of the reason that 3rd gens spool chargers quicker, seeing as how most have 3.73's
 
II silver 64/14. It spool fairly quick. around 10psi or about 1850rpms. It will hit 58 to 60psi. I really like it.
