3rd Annual Desert Diesel Nationals

I'm goin home with you guys! I love Disneyland. Thats where I wanna go for my 21st this year! :Cheer:
Maybe we can all have a Caravan from Whittmann to Anaheim ;)

haha, what did you make stock? My turbo is probably goin to eat **** hear soon... along with my tranny... I just PRAY that I will make it through 5 quarter miles at phoenix... I just want to get home and THEN blow some **** up ;-) lol
When completely stock, IIRC it made about 16 psi unloaded uphill. With intake, exhaust and Edge Evo it made about 26 psi in the same conditions (could sneak up to 28 psi with a load on the same hill), but would only hit about 22 psi when accelerating on a freeway onramp. With the Swamps injectors and tuning I hit 34 psi almost instantaneously.

Well, I should be leaving around 2:30 on Thursday... If your goin down I-5 I might see you, look for the Big red n' white f350 with a jefferson state diesel sticker across the front!

Yup, I am heading down I-5 (probably going to cut over near Bakersfield). If anyone is on the road and wondering if I am close, try calling my cell phone 503-407-1388. Does anyone on here use CBs anymore? I just use a portable unit in my truck (so the range is crappy). Somewhere I have a magnet mount antenna and adapter for it, I'll have to see if I can find it. Back in the old days when I towed up and down the West coast for races, we always convoyed and chatted on our CBs to stay awake. Tired racers say the funniest stuff on the CB ;)

Im going to be there. idk if i want to run my truck cause its the first time i would have ever raced period

I have been both ways and I like cutting over from Bakersfield. But that's just me.

You should run. Go to the test and tune Friday night if you can make it, then race the event too.

The thing about racing is that there is no better way to learn than doing it. And the best teacher you have are the racers around you.

Shawn (Redneck6.0L),
Probably won't get hassled for it here, but I have gotten grief before for running my shoulder harness around a similarly-shaped seat. It's not explicit in the rulebook, so it's up to the tech inspector if he wants to be a jerk (although I see their point that the seat spreads the harness too much). In my case I took a sawzall to the seat, upholstery and all (it was a stock Vega seat) and made a hole for the harness to pass through. You probably don't want to do that to your leather Lariat seats!

Another issue is how the shoulder harness gets mounted to the rollbar cross-brace. Apparently the NHRA is currently teaching its tech inspectors that the best way is to wrap the harness around the whole cross-brace, but to have tabs or a small loop welded on to keep them from sliding around. Back in 1987 they told me to drill a hole through the cross-brace, then in 1989 they told me to weld a vertical tab to the cross-brace, then a few years later they wanted a horizontal tab to the cross brace (which made more sense), then it changed to wrapping the whole harness around the brace, now finally adding the straps/tabs. Maybe they're getting a kickback from chassis shops or welding supply stores ;)
